January’s Best New Beauty Buys

We’re just a few days into the new year but the beauty industry is off to a busy start. To help you keep on top of all the new launches, here are the latest products we’re loving.

Mulberry Silk Nail Paint, £8 | Palette London

Not only is their packaging fun, but these Palette London polishes have great wear and shine, which is impressive seeing as most vegan nail paints are prone to flaking or chipping. Longevity aside, the formulas are hydrating with lots of plant minerals – plus, they’re clinically proven to strengthen nails within 30 days. We love these warm, rich tones that look expensive and plump when layered up – just like a gel manicure.

Advanced Repair Ointment, £11 | CeraVe

Skin-loving ceramides and hyaluronic acid combine in this satisfyingly rich ointment to soak up dryness and alleviate discomfort. Whether your lips, face or body are suffering from a bout of inflammation or dehydration, this will help immediately. It’s great for softening hard skin on your feet too – apply a thick layer overnight, put some socks on and you’ll find your soles are much softer come morning.

New Look Eau De Parfum, £245 | Dior

If you like your scents on the clean, musky side, you’ll love this from Dior. On the first spray, it’s quite unassuming, but once you let it settle, you’ll start to notice the warm, fresh and cosy notes. Aldehyde, frankincense and ambery give this fragrance its depth. Perfect for the cooler months, and for nights out.

Red Hibiscus Cologne Intense, £150 | Jo Malone London

This is different to others from the Jo Malone London range. Heady, warm and luxurious, it's a floral, with notes of jasmine sambac and mandarin, but it's not overtly sweet or sickly, thanks to added vanilla which gives it a musky, comforting quality we can't get enough of. A great evening scent, it feels elegant and sophisticated. We expect this to become a timeless classic for the brand.

Bond Repair Concentrate Hair Refills, £38 | Epres

This is one of the best bonding treatments we’ve tried recently. Apply it to dry hair, leave it on for just a few minutes or overnight before washing it out. Immediately hair will feel silkier, look healthier and have more visible shine. It’s an investment, but a worthy one given the results. You’ll find your hair has better body and looks smoother, too.

Damage Shield Shampoo & Conditioner, $36 | K18

K18 has quickly become a beloved haircare brand for those in the know. Due to popular demand, it’s now launching a shampoo and conditioner duo that’s clinically proven to protect hair. Containing peptides – which are known to boost volume and smoothness – it seals in moisture, boosts shine, softens, detangles and helps create a shield that repels damage from UV rays and pollution. It’s also proven to minimise cuticle swelling, which means less frizz and static.

Purifying Shower Head, £59 (was £65) | Hello Klean

We swear by this clever shower head. Generating a finer spray and minimising the harsh effects of hard water, we’ve noticed a visible difference in the texture of our hair and skin – think softer, smoother and shinier results. It also cuts down water use by 25%, and reduces heavy metals and 90% of chlorine. It’s quick to install: remove the white and blue plugs, as well as the cord from the tap in the shower, then connect the filter before reapplying the cord on the end.

Infallible 3-Second Setting Spray, £9.99 | L'Oreal Paris

Whether you want to reduce smudges, maximise make-up longevity or boost glow without increasing shine, this does-it-all mist is one of the best setting sprays to hit the market. Better still, it’s affordable. Lightweight and never sticky, it has a super-fine mist that quickly absorbs and never feels tight. We love the soft glow and how make-up never creases or changes colour as the day wears on.

Luxe Make-Up Bag, £29 | Vieve

We’re suckers for a good make-up bag at SheerLuxe and this one from Vieve is our current favourite. Spacious and with plenty of compartments, it fits all the essentials and more. The clever sideways zip means the bag stands up when closed then lies flat as you unzip it, meaning you can see where everything is at once. Ideal for travel.

Find Comfort Stop & Soothe Aromatherapy Pen, £20 | Rare Beauty

You’re likely familiar with Rare Beauty’s make-up range but this year it’s expanding into bodycare. There’s plenty to love – including its Comfort Hydration Body Lotion – but it’s this Aromatherapy Pen that’s made its way into our beauty bags. A little click dispenses a blend of peppermint, lavender and tonka bean oils for instant grounding and better headspace – ideal for this time of year. Simply dab a little onto your wrists and neck.

The Bronze Instant Bronzer, £11.60 (was £29) | Tan-Luxe

If you feel your skin looks dull and lifeless after the Christmas break, breathe a bit of life back into it with this easy-to-use bronzer. Dubbed ‘skincare with colour’, it brightens skin with azelaic acid and citrus. The colour is subtle but buildable and, once applied, it won’t budge until you’re ready to remove it. Mist it on wherever you want some extra radiance, then leave it for five to ten minutes to set. If you want to deepen the colour, simply shake the bottle and let the in-built micro-prisms gradually develop a darker tan. Good news – the shimmer is subtle, too.

Mascara & Brow Duo, £28 | Ruby Hammer

This clever brow and mascara duo comes with tiny, long thin wands to put you in control of creating extra definition and length. Both wands allow you to grab every tiny hair and create a look that’s both natural looking but still impactful. Another benefit is both formulas are brimming with peptides which help over time to thicken hair and give it a fuller appearance. The mascara contains hyaluronic acid and caffeine to keep lashes supple and strong, too.

Radiant Skin Brightening Serum Concealer, £25 | Tula Skincare

Tula’s new medium-coverage concealer has been designed to feel like a ‘second skin’. It has a smooth, silky consistency that’s easy to blend while the 20-strong shade range covers all undertones. There’s niacinamide, tea-leaf caffeine and seaweed inside to keep skin smooth, while the handy doe-foot wand makes application a doddle, allowing for strategic placement around spots and dark circles. We love that it brightens and offers a more natural finish. If you like your concealer formulas sheer and breathable, this is for you.
