A Make-Up Artist Shares Her Holiday Beauty Favourites
The Oil
My hair becomes knotted and lacks shine after being in the sea or the pool, so this is my go-to for bringing my strands back to life.
The SPF
These SPF drops feel more like a moisturiser than a sunscreen due to their soft hydrating texture and radiant feel.
The Day Cream
This feels like silk on your skin – it’s also ideal for drier skin in need of some hydration thanks to its rich but lightweight feel. It won’t clog your pores, either.
The Travel Mini
I’m never without a face mist. They’re great for refreshing your make-up during the day, especially when your skin starts to feel tight or dehydrated after time in the sun.
The In-Flight Saviour
It might be a little bougie, but on long-haul flights I love putting on a mask that contains lots of hyaluronic acid to plump up my skin. I also find it helps me relax.
The Base
At the end of a long, hot day, I always think it's best to go for a light, hydrating base to get some moisture back into the skin. This skin veil is so hydrating and gives you just the right amount of coverage with a beautiful glow.
The Concealer
On holiday I prefer to use a concealer with a satin finish than a matte one as it lasts better in the heat. A concealer in stick form is also much easier to apply, and to use for touching up your make-up in the evenings.
The Cream Blush
If you want to look instantly refreshed, this cream blush is the product for you. A small amount goes a long way – I like to apply a little to my cheekbones to lift the face, but you can also pop some onto the lips for a bit of a tint.
The Holiday Bronzer
I tend to avoid powders on holiday as my skin is naturally drier, so this cream bronzer by Vieve is perfect for leaving the skin looking sun kissed and hydrated. Not only does it have buildable coverage, but if I'm in a hurry and need a quick eye look, I often wash it over the eyelids.
The Eyeshadow Favourite
Cream eyeshadows are quick, effective and easy to apply with your fingers – saving you valuable time while you’re away. These ones set well and are long lasting. My favourite shades are ‘Golden Bronze’, ‘Taupe’, ‘Pink Sparkle’ and ‘Smokey Quartz’.
The Mascara
This is my go-to holiday mascara. The tubing formula means it’s less likely to transfer in the heat. Try applying the product using the wand vertically to lengthen and separate each lash. If you want to add volume, rotate the mascara wand horizontally.
The Glow-Giver
Because I don’t like putting my face into the sun directly, I love a natural-looking face tan – so these Tan Luxe drops are a must-have. I apply them with a bronzer brush for the most even application.
The Lip Hero
Like everyone, I’m obsessed with Rhode's Peptide Lip Treatment. It adds a lovely glossy sheen to the lips and it smells incredible – ‘Salted Caramel’ is my favourite.
The Shampoo & Conditioner
I’m a creature of habit when it comes to haircare, as my scalp is very sensitive. I’ve used this shampoo and conditioner for a long time, and the combination makes my hair silky smooth while also protecting it from colour fade – ideal when you’re in the sun a lot.
The Must-Have Body Product
Designed to enhance your glow through the summer months, this dry body oil provides nourishment and a soft shimmer to make your skin look healthy and radiant when the light hits.
The Signature Fragrance
Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc is the perfect combination of light and fruity – but it still contains plenty of warmth thanks to notes of cardamom, pistachio and ylang ylang. Fresh and never overpowering, I love it for holidays.
