THE BACKGROUND
Summer Fridays was launched by beauty influencers Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Ireland. Born out of their shared love for the industry, and experiences trialing and testing a range of products, their early products went viral and they’ve been killing it ever since. Until now, there was just one lip product – the Butter Balm – in their portfolio. That’s changed with the arrival of their lip oil, which is dry winter lip saviour and January pick-me-up rolled into one.
THE HYPE
The Dream Lip Oil gained traction on TikTok with creators sharing their raw reactions to testing it out for the first time. While plenty of brands – from Rare Beauty to Kosas – have brought out their own versions of lip oils, Summer Fridays has won people over for a few reasons.
First, the texture and formula. It’s non-sticky and easy to use. Made with a unique texture, it’s both satisfying and soothing to apply.
Second, the shades are a perfect balance between natural and pigmented. Typically with shade ranges, different skin tones find their favourites among the bunch. But with these – because of that perfect pigment balance – every shade is a potential winner, no matter your skin tone.

That’s not to mention the hero ingredient: vitamin E is a winner for combatting dryness and protecting your lips from external aggressors.
HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM IT
Aside from wearing the Dream Lip Oil as it comes, you can layer it up for further pigment. Or you can layer it over a lip liner for a more elevated, dramatic look. Alternatively, apply it over lipstick to add a high shine finish to an otherwise matte or drying product. Finally, you could mix and match two colours together to tailor your shade to your preference.
