The New Formula
After 40 years, the brand has revamped its much-loved product to be bigger and better than before. While the classic matte formula was popular back in the day, modern women now want more hybrid, moisturising matte formulas. And so, the brand has introduced M.A.Cximal Silky Matte Lipstick.
With a texture that’s far silkier and more comfortable to wear, the formula gives all-day moisture – featuring a creamy blend of hydrating ingredients including coconut oil and organic cocoa and shea butter to nourish lips and keep them feeling soft and smooth – and yet, the longevity of the product has increased to 12 hours. The packaging and shape have changed, too. Albeit slightly bigger, the look and feel are far more luxurious and the lipstick bullet now features a M·A·C embossed logo. We’ll admit we’re pleased the brand decided to keep the addictive vanilla scent.

The Shades
Available in 40 shades from subtle to bold, there’s something for everyone. While the classic shades are going nowhere, it’s exciting to see a range of new ones joining the line-up, too. In fact, the brand are adding six new shades, with Warm Teddy quickly becoming an online bestseller. As the name suggests, it's a warmer version of the longstanding M·A·C icon, Velvet Teddy, and is a universally flattering nude. "Traditionally, I'm a Velvet Teddy girl – it's just one of those shades that flatters, no matter your skin tone. Recently, however, I tried Chili and I love the way it looks on me. It's a subtle red but with a more burnt brown tone to it. It instantly makes you feel a little more put together, so I now wear it for dinners out, filming or just when I need a bit of a pick-me-up."

"When it comes to staying power and rich pigment, you can't beat the new M.A.Cximal Silky Matte Lipstick. I carry 'Honeylove' with me everywhere at the moment. It's a soft, pink shade that's perfect for daytime wear but also balances out a smokey eye at night. I find a good neutral is hard to come by, but this doesn't wash me out, unlike some colours I've tried before."
