MINIMALIST MAKE-UP

Maximist Mascara, £23 | BareMinerals

I love how thick the brush is on this mascara. Made using upcycled orange peel fibres, each one latches onto lashes to build volume, density and length. Despite its chunkiness, the wand never causes clumping or smudges – just an eye-opening effect that can be built up or kept subtle, depending on your preference. Plus, seeing as it’s full of hydrating ingredients, it’s proven to strengthen and condition lashes the more you use it. It dries fast, though, so work quickly if you want to layer it up.

Tinted Moisturiser Blush, £25 | Laura Mercier

It’s no secret how much we love a cream blush at SheerLuxe and this one from Laura Mercier is my latest – and greatest – discovery. Lightweight, yet easy to build up, it offers a healthy glow that looks youthful and fresh. The velvety texture means you can pat it on with fingers or buff it in with a brush. The slightly matte consistency means it doesn’t dissolve into nothing after just a few hours. There are 12 shades to choose from, with one for every skin tone.

Dimension Face Palette in Dusk, £39 | Vieve

This limited-edition palette comes with a bronzer, blush and highlighter – ideal for those looking to streamline their summer make-up routines. Grab a big, fluffy brush to swirl everything together, then buff the colour onto your cheeks for instant definition. You can also use the different shades on your eyes: warm pinks, soft terracotta tones and subtle peaches are all you need to create a daytime smokey eye – just blend each one in with your ring finger.

Laminating Brow Wax, £18 | Too Faced Fluff & Hold

When it comes to fluffy, laminated-looking brows, nothing rivalled Anastasia Beverly Hills’s Brow Freeze – until Too Faced launched this wax. Easy to apply, the wand is soaked in a slightly tacky liquid that instantly grooms and locks stubborn hairs in place. The brush is quite wet, so make sure you tap off any excess before running it through your brows – plus, a little goes a long way. If you have darker brows, you’ll find this is enough on its own, but those with lighter hair may like to layer up a tinted gel on top, or use a pencil to thicken up any sparseness.

SUMMER SCENTS

Bronze Goddess Nuit EDP, £60 | Estée Lauder

Bronze Goddess is an annual summer launch from Estée Lauder, but now the brand has gone a step further and developed a night-time version of its cult fragrance. With the same qualities as the original, it still conjures images of warmth and sunshine, only this time with a bit more depth – a potent combination of dark tonka, ambrox, salted coconut and night orchid come together to give it extra intensity.  A limited edition, this one is likely to fly off the shelves.

London Funk Eau De Parfum, £120 | Vilhelm Parfumerie

You can always rely on Vilhelm Parfumerie for perfumes that are just a bit different from the rest. London Funk is softly floral, but perfectly balanced with green notes like vetiver and driftwood. Add in marijuana, blackcurrant and sandalwood and you have something that truly stands out from the crowd. It’s unisex, and everyone will love this.

Secret Gardenia Eau De Parfum, £85 | Miller Harris

If fresher, softer fragrances are for you, you’ll enjoy this new one from Miller Harris. Pear, gardenia, jasmine and violet petal combine to create a powdery, feminine fragrance that feels fresh and clean. It’s not sickly sweet either – grounding notes of musk and sandalwood will instantly make you feel calm, cool and collected, even on the busiest of days.

HANDY TOOLS

Retractable Multi-Tasking Brush, £28.50 | Benefit

A good kabuki brush complete with a lid is an on-the-go essential. This one from Benefit is my new favourite. Ideal for travelling, it has stiff, short bristles that blend any product seamlessly for a natural finish. Use it with foundation, blusher, bronzer or highlighter to really work everything into the skin – and give it a thorough clean with a gentle shampoo once a week to keep the bristles in top condition.

NY Brightening T Bar, £38 | Solaris Laboratories

Vibrating facial tools are nothing new, but this one from Solaris stands out from the crowd. By sending quick pulses down into the upper layers of your dermis, it boosts blood flow and lymphatic drainage for fresher-looking skin. You only need to use it for a few minutes to see results. Just be sure to use it only on cleansed skin, working in upward motions for best results. You can also use it over the top of skincare – I love running it over sheet masks to help the ingredients absorb.

LED Slim Lamp, £25 | Manucurist

Manucurist is the new vegan and cruelty-free nail brand to know. With chic colours, functional accessories and affordable price tags, it’s quickly become a go-to among industry insiders. This new LED lamp sets gels in just 30 minutes and keeps them in place for weeks. Easy to use, it’s neat and compact, with a fold-up design so you can store it away discreetly when it’s not needed. Even when it’s on display, it’s pretty stylish compared to others on the market.

Callus Remover, £14.40 (was £18) | Tweezerman

This might look like a cheese grater, only it’s not nearly as abrasive. Designed to glide over skin with just enough resistance, it swiftly removes rough, hardened and stubborn skin without causing irritation. The key is to use it once you’ve stepped out the shower or bath, and your body temperature is still warm. With regular use, you’ll see softer, smoother skin –stick with it for long-term results. Even better, it’s made from stainless steel, so it’s easy to keep clean and hygienic.

BODY REFRESHERS

Coconut Body Cleanser, £15 | CO Bigelow

This body cleanser from CO Bigelow is such a mood lifter. With a soft, creamy, coconut scent, it’s practically summer in a bottle – plus, aloe vera, glycerin and castor oil make it seriously moisturising. You’ll never want it to end.

Available at LibertyLondon.com

Neroli Natural Deodorant, £23 | Corpus

Corpus deodorants are big news in the US and now we can finally get them over here. Designed to neutralise both stress and athletic sweat, it’s hands down one of the best natural deodorants I’ve ever tried. Aluminium free, it uses a blend of oils to offer a soft fragrance and minimise odour. The chic packaging is recyclable, meaning zero throwaway guilt. There are several different scents, but we love Neroli’s fresh and zesty appeal.

HAIR ESSENTIAL

Complete Nourishing Shine Drops, £19 | JVN

These multitasking drops do a bit of everything – adding protection, shine and a glossy finish to hair. Unlike some oils, these don’t have a dulling effect either. Instead, they absorb fast, using jojoba oils and hemisqualane to penetrate the hair shaft and deliver instant hydration. Use just a few drops on wet hair, massaging it through from the mid-lengths to ends. If you want longer-lasting moisture, apply it to dry hair, slicking it back into a bun and letting it work its magic overnight. With regular use, you’ll find hair feels smoother, and colour looks more vibrant.

SKINCARE HYBRIDS

CEO Afterglow Brightening Vitamin C Cream, £60 | Sunday Riley

I’m yet to try a Sunday Riley launch I don’t love. Its latest Vitamin C Cream has been designed with ‘glow’ in mind and it doesn’t disappoint. With a gel texture, it feels seriously hydrating on the skin – a little goes a long way – while ingredients like calming allantoin, plumping oils and antioxidants look after your complexion, keeping it smooth, bright and ready for any make-up. I love the dewiness it lends skin – think a healthy, fresh-from-a-facial-type glow. It’s expensive, but a worthy investment.

The Kissu Lip Mask, £25 | Tatcha

There are so many lip treatments on the market, but not all are created equal. That’s where this jelly mask comes in. Full of oils, fruit extracts and hydrating squalane, even a small amount delivers decent hydration. I recommend slathering a layer on overnight for optimum smoothness come morning. Free from any parabens, fragrance or mineral oils, it never causes any unnecessary tingling or drying. Ideal pre-lipstick, it also creates a silky soft base for make-up to adhere to.

Available at SpaceNK.com

Photoderm Self-Tanner Mist, £21 | Bioderma

Bioderma is one of the gentlest skincare brands on the market, which is why you can trust its self-tans not to cause any irritation. Full of skin-softening glycerine, it’s impossible to go wrong with this easy-to-use spray. A generous misting will coat limbs in even and believable colour, and it’s easy to ramp up the colour if you want to. Unlike some self-tanners, this never causes any dryness – in fact, skin looks glow-y and feels much softer to the touch afterwards. Despite the colour, it doesn’t stain or transfer – I’m stocking up on several this summer.

Super Multi-Corrective Eye Zone Treatment, £41 | Kiehl's

Eye creams can be divisive, but Kiehl's latest launch is so much more than a simple hydrator. Its serum-like consistency is full of plumping ingredients to give this thin, delicate area of skin a visible, luminous boost. It won't rid dullness or wrinkles overnight, but a small amount does help to give a quenched and more radiant appearance. It also smooths the area, priming it for make-up with a fresh, cooling feel. You'll find concealer and any eyeliner sits better as a result of use. Created with sensitivities in mind, you can take it right up to your lashline without fear of irritation.
