The Best New Beauty Buys For November

The Best New Beauty Buys For November

Niche candles, nourishing skincare and a fragrance/make-up collaboration we never saw coming – here are the beauty buys we’re loving this month…

1

Boy Smells

This niche candle brand has been on our radar for some time, and now it’s expanding its range with a new fragrance – Rhubarb Smoke. Designed to embrace masculine and feminine scents simultaneously, expect to sample unique notes across their vast offering – from tomato vine to honeysuckle, smoke and rose. We love the impressive burn time, too, as well as how long the fragrance lingers in any room long after the flame has gone out. A great gift for Christmas – for you, or a loved one.

Anine Bing Pure Noir Eau de Parfum, €169

Scandi designer Anine Bing always gets it right when it comes to fashion, and now, she’s expanding her skillset with a cult new fragrance. Pure Noir has just launched, and delivers all the warmth and sensuality you’d expect. Created to embody the ‘modern woman’, it balances notes of black rose with nutmeg and black pepper – it’s sophisticated, feminine and every bit as cool as Anine herself.

Juliette Has A Gun Lipstick Fever, From £85

As far as fragrance brands go, Juliette Has A Gun is hugely underrated. Constantly delivering fragrances that not only stand out, but go the extra mile with a range of quirky notes, it never disappoints. Their latest offering, Lipstick Fever, is set to be popular for winter. Focusing on the historic notes used in lipsticks, expect to find iris, violet absolute and raspberry with a highly-addictive woody dry down.

4

Tom Ford Bitter Peach Eau De Parfum, £228

Bitter Peach may not sound all that synonymous with winter, but the fruity notes are tempered slightly by blood orange and rum-infused oils. Added patchouli adds a hint more musk, too. At first spritz, it feels light and citrus-y, but as it dries down, you’ll soon see how it develops into something much cosier. Different to other Tom Ford perfumes, we predict this will be a huge hit.

Byredo Corporate Colour Eyeshadow 5 Colours Palette, Available In Store

You may associate Byredo with its best-selling fragrances, but now they’re expanding into make-up, too. From lipsticks to mascara, there is something for everyone here. Our favourite is the warm Colour Palette brimming with neutral, tonal shades for an on-trend smokey eye. The gold, weighty packaging adds to the luxe feel, too.

Kilian The Nudes Le Rouge Parfum Matte Lipsticks, £44

If you’re in the market for a long-wear nude lipstick, look no further than By Kilian’s new launches. Each formula is a satin matte, with shades ranging from a soft rose to caramel hues – all of which are flattering on all skin tones and skin ages. Despite the longevity they offer, they don’t crease or flake – ideal for wearing underneath your face covering.

NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation, £23.80

Oily-prone skin types will love this latest foundation from NARS. Full-coverage, this really goes the distance and then some. It also has an in-built anti-oxidation complex which, put simply, prevents the colour changing throughout the day – so you won’t get any streaks. The benefits don’t end there, either. Botanical extracts and antioxidants will help to minimise shine and excess oil, while also protecting against blue light emitted from your devices’ screens, too. Plus, unlike other matte formulas, this includes hyaluronic acid, so your skin never feels dry or tight.

8

Typology Teint Tinted Serum, £24.80

Looking for a lightweight and dewy base? This make-up and skincare hybrid is not to be missed. A low-key alternative to NARS, it’s sheer and can be layered up easily depending on your preference. Each shade has also been formulated using the Fitzpatrick Scale. This takes into consideration your sun exposure and skin tone to find you a perfect match. If you’re unsure, the website offers free samples for testing, too. We love the addition of vitamin C, squalane and aloe vera – all of which hydrate, brighten and protect, while your skin gets an even glow.

9

bareMinerals Strength & Length Serum-Infused Mascara, £23

There are so many great mascaras available right now, but this one stands out because of its clever wand. Designed to match the effects of a comb, it uses tiny prongs to latch onto the lashes for an even, fanned-out effect. You can also flip it, using the flatter side to create more volume and density. The inkiness is impressive, too, as is the longevity – you won’t find it sliding off your eyes come 4pm.

10

Aurelia Brightening Eye Serum, £48

Unlike creams, eye serums are a pro favourite thanks to their ability to penetrate the skin at a much deeper level. Cue Aurelia’s latest launch, which is brimming with probiotics, arnica extract and shea butter. You only need a small amount for it to get to work strengthening the skin, boosting collagen and smoothing tone for an even appearance. Plus, as it’s so lightweight, it sits imperceptibly under make-up and any other products you layer on top. Great for those battling dark circles or uneven texture.

11

Lumene Moisturising Prebiotic Oil-Cocktail, £24.90

One for very dry, sensitive skin types, Lumene’s new bi-phase formula harnesses the benefits of prebiotics to keep your skin in check and inflammation at bay. Think of it like a serum, applying it to a cleansed face every night and morning before your moisturiser. Nordic spring water floods the face with moisture, while Nordic Bilberry seed oil keeps skin plump and smooth. Gentle and effective.

NUDESTIX NUDESKIN Citrus Clean Balm & Make-Up Melt, $38

NUDESTIX are known for their multi-purpose make-up sticks and now, they’re expanding with NUDESKIN – a simple, multi-tasking range developed in conjunction with A-List dermatologist Dr. Jason Emer. Our favourite from the line is this unguent cleansing balm. Gently fragranced, it doesn’t irritate the skin, while essential oils help to sweep away make-up seamlessly and de-clog pores in one satisfying go. Skin looks radiant and glow-y afterwards, too.

Paula’s Choice Clinical 20% Niacinamide Treatment, £45

Niacinamide is one of the most Googled skincare ingredients this year. Not only does it boost elasticity and shrink pores, it’s also incredibly gentle. If you’re keen to try its benefits first-hand, we recommend this latest serum from Paula’s Choice. With a potency of 20%, a small amount gets deep down into the skin fast, combating everything from stubborn bumps to excess oil and uneven tone. The best bit? The results are fast – you’ll start to see a difference within days.

14

SkinCeuticals Tripeptide-R Neck Repair, £95

The skin on our neck is just as thin as that around our eyes, so it pays to look after it. If you’re so inclined, SkinCeuticals new Neck Repair Cream offers a targeted approach using pure retinol and a Tripeptide concentrate which work in tandem to support the skin’s own natural collagen production. Don’t be alarmed if you don’t see results instantly – it can take a few months – but you’ll gradually see an improvement in fine lines, wrinkles and in the firmness of your neck.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Filler Hyaluronic Acid Eye Cream For Face, £13.33 (was £19.99)

Eye creams for the face are all the rage right now. But what exactly are they? Built with the thin skin around our eyes in mind, the ingredients inside are often stronger, so they give the face more immediate results. L’Oréal’s version sells one bottle every 10 seconds globally, and has finally dropped in the UK. Full of hyaluronic acid, it plumps up fine lines, while vitamin E strengthens the skin for a thicker, more boosted appearance. The thin texture is pleasing too – it sinks in fast and feels very cooling.

Rita Hazan Lifting Spray, £22

Volumisers that don’t weigh your hair down can be hard to find, but Rita Hazan’s latest Lifting Spray does exactly that. Designed to be misted onto damp hair, scrunch it in, let it air dry, and you’ll gradually see the extra weight and density it provides – subtle, but effective. It includes sunflower oil and vitamin E for extra hydration and heat protection, too. A great one-stop-shop.

17

Tort Sea Pebbles Comb, £24

Tort is one of our favourite brands for cute, quirky hair accessories. We’ve recently found ourselves stockpiling their wide-toothed combs which not only elevate any ‘shelfie’, but are ideal for detangling thanks to the thick, rounded teeth. Use on wet or dry hair, or to brush through your conditioner for super soft results.

Babyliss Cordless Tong, £179.99

Babyliss is one of our go-to styling brands for effective and affordable hair tools, so we were thrilled to hear they were expanding their cult offering to include cordless devices. If you’ve ever been to the hairdressers and wondered how to replicate that tousled, effortless wave – opt for this new Tong. It gently clamps around your strands, distributing an even heat for minimal damage and a smooth, soft wave. Plus, you get at least 40-minutes use before you need to plug it in, so you’re never faffing around, getting caught up in wires. We expect this to sell out fast.
