The Background…

The minute it launched in 2013, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer outperformed every other concealer on the market. Fast forward nine years and it continues to stride ahead, with its newly-earnt title of being the ‘number one concealer’ in both the US and the UK.* Its trusted formula has always stayed the same and it’s loved by a number of make-up artists and industry insiders for its smooth, silky consistency and universal shade range.

What NARS’ Global Make-Up Artist Says…

Texture plays a big part in the concealer’s success, but so does is the clever use of ingredients. Vincent Ford explains: “The reason it’s so popular is a mix of the finish, shade range and formula. It blends so smoothly because it’s full of skin-loving ingredients like grape seed extract and magnolia bark extract, both of which are proven to reduce redness. They also strengthen skin and keep it supple. Additionally, mineral powders and vitamin E work together to hydrate and firm the skin, giving it that radiant glow we all crave. Ingredients aside, the coverage is also so impressive. You’d be hard-pushed to find a concealer as buildable as this. You can create any type of finish you want – it’s so easy to layer up without it ever caking or creasing.”

The Insiders Who Swear By It…

You know a product is good when make-up artists continue to recommend it and claim it as a kit staple. From Ruby Hammer MBE to A-list make-up artist Sir John, it’s easy to see why it’s become a beauty icon.

Jessica Kell, make-up artist: “This is one of the best brightening concealers I’ve ever used. It lifts the entire eye area and conceals any shadows – plus, it’s totally budge-proof and really does stay in place all day. The creamy texture is so easy to work with, too.”

Tania Grier, A-list make-up artist: “If you want to conceal dullness, redness or any other skin issues, then this concealer is unrivalled. It gives full coverage but never feels too thick or heavy – perfect for those who like their concealer on the luminous side – plus, it can go from to natural to full coverage in seconds.”

Ruby Hammer MBE, make-up artist: “It’s excellent for covering pigmentation and is heavy duty enough for a no-budge finish. Try dotting it onto skin only where it’s needed, then blend out with a small brush or your finger for soft, even coverage.”

How To Make The Most Of It…

With this product, we recommend using your fingers to warm up the creamy texture and dab it over dark circles, uneven tone and little thread veins. Plus, the chunky doe foot applicator is all you need. The perfect balance between full-coverage and a natural finish, it gives skin a glow-y, well-rested look – plus, it keeps it looking supple and hydrated.

Final Tips & Tricks To Know…

This concealer also doubles up as a good eye primer. Vincent adds: “I like to apply this concealer post-foundation so the colour blends in seamlessly. It works well on the eyelids to prep them for any eyeshadow that follows. Dust a little setting powder on top – you’ll find anything that goes on afterwards lasts for hours.

“When you apply the concealer, remember to use light layers and build it up gradually. This will prevent you applying too much concealer in one place and will minimise any movement throughout the day. Finally, as it’s full of light diffusing technology, you’ll find it really lifts and brightens – almost as a highlighter would. You want it to reflect the light but in a way that feels soft and diffused. With this in mind, focus your placement at the inner part of your under-eye area and blend outwards. This will give you natural finish, as well as an eye-widening look.”
