The Supermarket Beauty Products Worth Snapping Up

From Sainsbury’s to Lidl, there are plenty of beauty bargains to be found in the supermarket aisles – especially when many of these products match the results offered by high-end beauty brands. We’ve picked our favourites from just £1.50…

All products on this page have been selected by our editorial team, however we may make commission on some products.

Boutique Illuminating Drops, £4 | Sainsbury’s

Find Them At: Sainsbury's

You can pipette these silky drops into your moisturiser, foundation or body lotion – or apply them straight to the skin for a healthy-looking luminosity. Pigmented for maximum glow, they contain the perfect amount of subtle shimmer. At £4 you can't go wrong.

Natural Nourishing Body Butter Rose and Boswellia, £11.92 | Yope

Find It At: Waitrose

Bodycare and lifestyle brand Yope is one of our favourite beauty finds at Waitrose. Covering everything from hand creams to shower gels, its prices start from £7.99, while the whole range is vegan friendly and free from SLS, SLES and PEG. There’s plenty on offer – including soaps and gels which have a neutral pH, so they won’t irritate sensitive skin – but we like the body butters best. With delicious scents and a lightweight, non-greasy texture, they’ll bring dry skin back from the brink. We love the packaging, too.

Muscle Melt Balm, £26 | Element Herbology

Find It At: Ocado

Tired, achy muscles are no match for this soothing balm. Brimming with botanicals – including anti-inflammatory turmeric and ginger – it works to ease pain and relax tension within the body. Warm it up in your hands, then massage it firmly into the areas that need it most. The soothing formula helps to soften skin and provide instant relief, but it also encourages better blood flow to speed up the healing process. Coconut, olive, chia and rosemary oils all combine to get rid of dryness, while the medicinal scent is instantly comforting.

Lacura Vanilla Honey Bath | Aldi

Find It At: Aldi

A clever dupe, this Vanilla Honey Bath Nectar sells out time and again. So much so, you may only be able to find it on Amazon for now until Aldi’s stock replenishes. The velvety texture is made up of sweet almond oil, provitamin B5 and, of course, honey to soothe and soften. It’s the ultimate treat and just a small amount will take your bath to the next level.

Beauty Masks Pro, From £5 | Beauty Pro

Find Them At: Sainsbury's

From foot and hand masks to dedicated glow-givers, BeautyPro’s sheet masks are some of the best on the market and are now available at Sainsbury’s. No, they won’t erase wrinkles or dark spots for good, but they will deliver brighter, more luminous skin, instant hydration and a smooth, supple complexion that’s ready for make-up. Look out for the ones laced with retinol for a quick tightening effect. Better still, most of the brand’s masks are made from biodegradable natural bamboo fibres, so you don’t get that throwaway guilt.

Start The Day Beautifully Kit, £14 | EcoTools

Find Them At: Sainsbury's

EcoTools is the sustainable beauty brand that uses only recycled and renewable materials. Often hard to find, it’s now stocked at Sainsbury’s – including some of its key bestsellers, like this five-piece set. Encompassing everything you need for applying flawless-looking make-up, it’s well worth snapping up at £14. Each brush has silky-soft fibres, though the bristles are still densely packed for smooth application every time. Don’t miss the sponges either.

Soft Bergamot & Musk Eau De Toilette, £12.50 | Discover Intense

Find Them At: M&S

M&S has an impressive selection of fragrances, including the ones by Discover Intense. There are plenty of scents to choose from – we recommend heading in store to try before you buy, but the Soft Bergamot & Musk is unique. As the name suggests, it has warm, smoky undertones but with a floral freshness that sets it apart. Feminine without being cloying or overbearing, it’s ideal if you want to wear something no one else has.

Q10 Anti Wrinkle Day Cream, £1.49 | Cien

Find It At: Lidl

Lidl’s Q10 cream has been so popular it’s one of the few of its products to make a permanent return. Made with hyaluronic acid and a hefty dose of vitamin E, it works to moisturise and protect skin while giving it a firmer, tauter appearance over time. It also includes UVA/UVB filters to protect skin and maintain its elasticity. Simple to use, it’s easy to see why it’s a bestseller.

Luminosity Radiant Skin Foundation, £8.75 (was £12.50) | Marks & Spencer

Find It At: M&S

For lightweight coverage with a little glow, you can’t beat Autograph’s Radiant Skin Foundation. Sheer and easy to build up, it conceals any redness or dullness without feeling suffocating on your skin. We also like that it lets a little bit of natural texture show through for a more natural-looking finish. Apply it with a brush for the smoothest results, while added vitamin C will keep your skin bright and looking fresh. The shade range is vast, too – and the focus on undertones makes it easy to find a perfect match.

Hyaluronic Plus Niacinamide Serum, £4 | ASDA

Find It At: Asda

This hydrating serum from Asda exceeded all our expectations. Never sticky, it has a sheer, lightweight texture that absorbs into skin fast, while ingredients like hyaluronic acid plump skin full of moisture. There’s niacinamide in there too, which counteracts inflammation and strengthens skin’s elasticity over time. Like anything, it’s not a miracle worker, but you will notice better bounce and glow with regular use. You’ll also find make-up glides on smoothly afterwards.

Prevent & Brighten Multi Action Retinoid Serum, £22.50 | Formula

Find it At: M&S

Next time you’re in the M&S beauty section, remember to check this out. A potent retinol-based serum which promises impressive results when used regularly, it gets deep down into the skin, plumping it up and smoothing out uneven texture for a healthier, firmer-looking complexion. Unlike some retinols, it isn’t aggravating, as ingredients like vitamin E and sweet almond oil cushion any harshness by sealing in hydration. There’s also shea butter in there for a bit of glow.

LED mirrors can be expensive, but this one comes with everything you need for just £8. With 32 lights and a clever rotating stand, it allows you to look at all your features from every angle for precise application. The brightness is adjustable, which is ideal for poorly lit rooms, and we love that it comes with a handy tray for extra storage.
