The Beauty Team’s Favourite Travel Minis & Holiday Must-Haves

Even when travelling without a liquid restriction I have a very tight, light edit of beauty products that I pack (prioritising luggage space for souvenir shopping). I love the Barbara Sturm minis, particularly the calming serum which is perfect for sunburnt, sensitised or dehydrated skin. It’s refillable too, so more sustainable than most mini options. Speaking of sunburn, Elizabeth Arden’s iconic Eight Hour Cream is great for a scorched nose but also doubles up as a lip balm, cuticle oil or even highlighter. The scent is so nostalgic too. I want my make-up to be as versatile as possible too, and the Rhode Pocket Blush ticks three boxes as I can use it on my cheeks, lips and even as an eyeshadow. Another multi-use product is Hersheson’s Almost Everything Cream which – the clue is in the name – can be used for a multitude of hair needs including a mask or holding product. I tend to use it in wet hair to help it air dry into nice beachy waves or to smooth frizz once it’s dried. It’s a real game changer – and space saver.

Finding great shampoo and conditioner minis is no easy feat but this duo is my favourite – hydrating but not heavy on the hair. I also don’t go far without my Caudalie face mist. It’s perfect for a mid-flight hydration boost and keeps my make-up looking fresh on the go too. I also don’t think I’ll ever tire of this Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. The iconic scent accompanies every trip, whether it’s a beach holiday or ski break. Finally, a niche but seriously clever hack is to bring a mini scented candle with you, particularly if you tend to get a bit homesick or anxious. Neom’s scents smell like home, so bringing a mini version to light in a hotel room really helps me feel comforted when I’m travelling.

I’m not an anxious flyer but keeping a soothing fragrance to hand is always a good idea. Le Labo’s Rose 31 comes in an easy-to-apply rollerball format and has a clean, cosy clarity to it. I won’t fly without it. Another firm fixture in my hand luggage is an antibacterial hand gel or spray – enough said. I’ll settle for anything that isn’t sticky, fruity or sickly-sweet but since discovering Navy’s uplifting Botanical No Rinse Hand Mist, powered by rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils, I’m completely hooked. If I’m sunning or swimming (inevitable given my holidays are pretty much exclusively of the fly-and-flop variety), a reparative, nourishing conditioner is a must. Italian label Davines has stolen my heart. If you try one thing, make it the Oi All-in-One Milk, this brilliant leave-in treatment adds no extra weight to mid-lengths and ends; instead it swiftly detangles and leaves hair feeling buttery soft, and the size is perfect for hand-luggage. Finally, holidays are when multi-tasking formulas really come into their own. Trinny London’s Lip2Cheek has come with me on countless trips and always pulls its weight, perking up my face no matter how jet-lagged or sluggish I’m feeling. ‘Chloe’ is the most beautiful, wearable terracotta brown on olive skin.
