At The Table, Rukmini Iyer
It’s no secret I’ve always been a fan of Rukmini’s one-tray book series, so I was thrilled to see she’s joined Substack for further foodie musings. I love how she makes cooking feel effortless and fun, championing vibrant, fresh ingredients and putting inventive, time-saving twists on traditional dishes. Perfect for midweek dinner inspo.

Dinner Tonight, Margie Nomura
I listened to the entire back catalogue of Margie’s podcast, Desert Island Dishes, throughout the various lockdowns, and rate her newsletter just as highly. Each week, she delivers a 30-minute meal you’ll actually want to make – think comforting soups, one-pot wonders and hearty salads – alongside tips for using leftovers and store cupboard ingredients.

Sweet Things by Benjamina Ebuehi
You might remember Benjamina Ebuehi from series four of Bake Off. Now, she’s a cook, food stylist and author of numerous cookbooks. I always look forward to her newsletter, which is filled with delicious recipes, from simple desserts to more complex dishes for weekend baking. Her ‘very vanilla birthday cake’ is so easy to make and one of my all-time favourite recipes. You’ll find restaurants and travel recs in there too – she recently came back from a month-long tour of Mexico so I’ve bookmarked numerous spots for my next trip.

Shut Up Evan, Evan Ross Katz
Anyone interested in pop culture should be following celebrity commentator and journalist Evan Ross Katz. His newsletter offers an in-depth take of everything happening in the celebrity and fashion world, here and across the pond. I particularly enjoyed his recent essay on men’s fashion during the current awards season (think Succession’s Jeremy Strong in his velvet three-piece at the Golden Globes…) as well as a round up of Evan’s favourite celebrity tweets of all time – and why he’s ditched the platform for good.

Gina’s Journal, Gina Jackson
Gina’s Instagram is a masterclass in creating engaging and beautifully shot travel content. So, it should come as no surprise that her recently launched Substack is just as good. Her newsletter features recommendations from her travels – she’s just returned following three months in Asia and Australia, so there are numerous city guides and restaurant recommendations from each place. It also features some culture picks (like film and TV recs) as well as hotel wish lists frequent travellers will want to know about.

Remotely, Lucy Williams
I’d always admired Lucy Williams’s relaxed sense of style, but it wasn’t until she took her Instagram followers on her journey renovating her now-famously colourful home during the pandemic that I became a fully-fledged fan. Her newsletter Remotely, which moved over to Substack at the end of 2023, is a well-rounded edit of her life, leaning towards home renovations and decorating, but also features the books she’s reading and the TV she’s loving.

Feeder, Sophie Wyburd
Former Mob chef Sophie Wyburd’s debut cookbook came out last summer and it’s fast become a reach-for at home. For even more inspiration, her Substack Feeder is where I get even more of her excellent recipes and restaurant recommendations. One of my favourites is her ‘Spooning’ series – a collection of recipes such as sausage vodka orzo designed to be eaten with a spoon, in front of the TV. Heaven.

From sustainable fashion to styling tips and in-depth pieces on how to style a trend, Leandra Medine Cohen has her finger on the pulse – putting her own spin on the latest trends, topics and hot products in fashion. I loved her latest post about ‘shirt sandwiches’ – picture turtlenecks and scarves styled under shirts to add interest.

Like everyone else, I fell in love with Emily Mariko during lockdown. She was someone who cooked clean, healthy food in a delicious way, giving her followers some great inspo too. Her Substack takes this to the next level, sharing a food plan for the week ahead – before her TikTok recipes go live – so you can cook along with her.
