This year we’re hosting and I’m planning on dressing the house with tonnes of fresh flowers, candles and using all my amazing tablescaping bits from Rebecca Udall. I will try and do hand-written menus and place names to finish the table. I’ve been obsessed with the floppy bow trend – I used them all over my Christmas tree and I’m going to tie them to my champagne coupes – so chic. I have ordered my canapés in from a local catering company @ChrisKitchFood as I can’t be bothered with the faff! I haven’t quite got my menu sorted but I recently got this Fortnum’s cookbook which I love. I am thinking beef wellington with lots of yummy sides and an Eton Mess for pudding. I love dressing up for a dinner party at home as it makes it feel special, but you are still in the comfort of your own home – I have my eyes on this Zimmerman top. Music, games and lots of laughter is the order of the night and I will let the kids stay up and ring in the New Year with them. New Years’ Day will be a swim in the Hampstead ponds to blow the cobwebs away and a chilled afternoon by the fire watching movies with the kids.

We're going to be in NYC for New Year’s Eve which I'm so excited about. Our trip starts five days earlier in Washington DC on a crack museum tour, and then we travel to the Big Apple with enough time for restaurant hopping and vintage shopping before the big night. On the 31st itself we’ll be at our friends’ place on the Upper East Side – they're planning a tequila-fuelled whistle-stop food tour of all their favourite NYC haunts. I imagine this means a lot of pizza. They have an amazing view of the city, so I’m excited to watch the fireworks on the balcony before crawling back into bed at The Carlyle, one of my favourite hotels in the world.

FOWEY HALL; PEXELS/JESS BUCKLE

We're off to Cornwall this year for three nights at the newly renovated Fowey Hall Hotel. I can't wait. After a fun packed few days with the family en masse, I know I'll be ready for some sea air and for someone else to cook and clean up after us all. With little kids in tow, we're going for a more wholesome approach to celebrate. Long walks, good food, Uno games a plenty and feet up in front of rolling films. I'll be packing this silk co-ord, these mega sheepskin slippers and will pop on a pair of statement earrings to get me in the celebratory spirit. Bring on 2024!

NYE has always been a bit of an afterthought for me, but after our Friendsmas didn’t quite make it out of the group chat, I’ve made sure to get a proper NYE dinner locked in. I’ll be hosting it and plan to go all out with my tablescape. My affordable go-tos include H&M, Oliver Bonas, Anthropologie and Søstrene Grene — plus fun extras like disco balls from Amazon. I love the idea of doing colourful mismatched plates and cups. Food-wise, I love both M&S’s and Waitrose’s selections of party food. For the main, I’ve recently mastered a genius pie-gratin hybrid featuring a creamy chicken and leek filling with plenty of wholegrain mustard and cheese, topped with sliced potatoes for a gratin-like finish. It’s unreal. For dessert, I’ll make a pavlova – a recipe hopefully made much easier if Santa brings me the Kitchen Aid on my Christmas list. I’ll keep drinks simple with spicy margaritas and bubbles. Outfit-wise, I’m toying with a few options. I want to either rent something mega for less — maybe one of 16Arlington’s feather-trimmed mini dresses or a sequin top. Alternatively I love Asceno’s new collection and saw Lucy Williams in a killer mustard-yellow velvet robe and matching slip. My final option is a mega blue silk dress from Anthropologie — which is so extra, but so fun and so perfect.

@AndreyTulsky; @PLUMCOTTAGES

I recently visited a lovely Plum Cottages property for a weekend with my family and had the most amazing stay. So, for New Year’s I’ve booked another one. The cottage looks like The Holiday in real life. I can’t wait for fresh country walks and sitting by the fire. We plan to walk to the local pub for a drink then stay in for the evening. Even so, I will take the excuse to dress up. I love this silver sequin dress by Rhode and will style it with my new Phoria earrings. I am very into the red trend this Christmas so I will be incorporating this into a tablescape through a pretty star splatter dish and lots of velvet bows. My drink of choice at this time of year is mulled wine, so naturally I am going to pack one of these spice bags from Daylesford too.

NIO COCKTAILS; ST. JOHN

This New Year’s Eve, I’ll be in the middle of dog-sitting my boyfriend’s mum’s wiry, ginger-haired dog. We’ll be staying in the West Midlands, so we’re planning a series of dog-friendly strolls using one of my favourite purchases of 2023 – Weird Walk’s compendium of interesting and otherworldly strolls and hikes in the UK. For NYE, The Rollright Stones is top of the list – I’ll be wearing my new sparkly Stine Goya coat for the occasion. In the afternoon, we’re heading to the cinema to watch Ferrari. I’m a massive Adam Driver and Michael Mann fan, and can’t wait to watch this. I’m planning a very relaxed evening this year – and am hoping my boyfriend got my hint about these super-fluffy slippers I’d like for Christmas so I can chill in style. (If I was going out, it would be this mega dress). I always like to use NYE to take stock of the year in my diary and will be plotting 2024 at the same time – over a selection of NIO’s excellent ready-to-pour cocktails. I had a NIO advent calendar this year, created in collaboration with Rome bar Drink Kong, which I visited last month and was blown away by, and I have plenty leftover. In keeping with the low-effort evening, I’ve ordered a meal kit from St John. The team’s end-of-year feast includes mackerel rillettes, roast pork and a sticky gingerbread pudding. Heaven.

MAISON MARGAUX

New Year's is always a big family affair – think lavish charcuterie boards, indulgent cocktails, the whole spread. Even though we're staying in, it’s one of the few excuses to get ‘dressed-up’ so I’m going all out with this sophisticated black, laced jumpsuit from Nadine Merabi. It's the perfect blend of elegance and understated glamour. I’m opting for maximalism this year, so I’ll pair it with this Giarite statement grab bag and these bold embellished hoop earrings.  Given my less-than-chef status, I've been assigned the task of table aesthetics. I’ve chosen a colourful and rustic set-up with these striped side plates from Rockett St George, that are sure to stand out among our black, sequinned ensembles. And of course, the cocktails will be flowing – it seems only right to end the year with a margarita. Moth's ready-to-go cocktails have been my go-to all year – they hands down have the best in flavour.

PA MEDIA; Dear Jackie; TOWNHOUSE

This year, we've decided to go out for the first time in a long time, so it's the perfect excuse to have some pampering and start the day with a mani at Townhouse. Normally, I'm hosting at home, enjoying the celebratory TV specials and a few glasses of fizz, but once I visited a new London hotel earlier this month, Broadwick Soho, I couldn't resist booking its New Year's package, which culminates with a rooftop view of the fireworks. So I'll be going all out on the glamour front in a gorgeous white sequin dress from Celia B, this lovely gold clutch from DeMellier and a chic velvet blazer from Cefinn.

I’m away for Christmas this year so I’ve promised my family I’ll be home for NYE. My sister and I have planned the day with a full afternoon and evening of activities, starting with boardgames and likely ending with an impromptu singsong from the siblings. Articulate is always a go-to, but we also love ‘Karen’, a hilarious game based on one-star reviews real customers have left online. Food-wise, we’ll keep it traditional with canapés and a beef wellington (pre-made from Michel Roux Jr’s Dishpatch selection) served with all the trimmings, followed by whatever leftover Christmas cake or pudding is knocking about. I like to make a big jug of a St-Germain spritz, which always goes down well, before ringing in the New Year with a glass of Nyetimber’s Classic Cuvée. At-home festivities are all about comfort, so I’ll be wearing this bow-detail knit from ARKET with these gold earrings from Anthropologie and a pair of red velvet Olivia Morris slippers I recently found on Vinted.
