Henley Festival

Henley Festival brings an exciting programme of music, comedy, street theatre and art to the banks of the River Thames. The five-day, black-tie festival showcases some of the UK’s best talent, as well as international names, from the world of classical music, jazz, soul and pop. Confirmed acts this year include Nicole Scherzinger, DJ Trevor Nelson, Gladys Knight, House Gospel Choir and Sam Ryder, while Sara Pascoe, Dara Ó Briain and Angela Barnes, will perform stand-up comedy sets. Guests can dine at various restaurants and bars to tuck into tasting menus and order champagne. FOR WORLD-CLASS TENNIS:

Wimbledon

It isn’t summer without a trip to the All England Lawn Tennis Club to watch the sport’s biggest stars play on its world-famous courts. Whether you’ve secured tickets for a match, plan on queueing or want to watch the action on the big screen, there are some fun activations happening around the capital for post- or pre-match drinks. Our pick is the Wimbledon Terrace at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho which will be screening matches live from its courtyard for the first time. The outdoor space will be transformed with Wimbledon-inspired décor, where guests can watch the action while enjoying afternoon tea served in picnic hampers alongside tennis-themed cocktails. We like the sound of the ‘Game Point Paloma’ made with London Essence Pomelo & Pink Pepper Tonic.

1st-14th July.

FOR JAPANESE DISHES:

Kioku by Endo

On the rooftop of the Old War Office (the new OWO), Kioku by Endo has panoramic views across central London and features a 55-cover dining room, an outside terrace, an eight-seat chef’s table overlooking the kitchen, and an eight-seat private dining room in one of the building’s iconic turrets. The rooftop terrace offers exceptional Japanese dishes and sushi – think rolled maki served by hand and delicate dim sum. The Kioku Bar is the perfect place to enjoy a drink before heading up to the rooftop. It takes inspiration from Japanese listening bars, so the music sets the mood while cocktails flow. If you try one drink, make it the ‘Bergamot & Wakoucha’ made with Fuji Single malt Japanese whisky, bergamot liqueur, smoked wakoucha, fermented tea, and London Essence Ginger Ale.

Whether you’re after brunch with the girls or a fun night in a buzzy spot, Los Mochis’ new outpost in the city could be just the ticket. Fusing Mexican and Japanese cuisine, the restaurant is known for its sushi rolls, ceviches and tacos, as well zingy cocktails. The new City outpost has great views of the city and the terrace is open until 3am – perfect for late-night drinks during long summer nights. This month, Los Mochis has partnered with London Essence to create a bespoke Paloma cocktail menu. Visit to try a range of palomas in the sun before the end of the month – we like the ‘Paloma XL’, made with your choice of tequila or mezcal, lime, bitter grapefruit cordial, High Spirit Ruby, and London Essence Pink Grapefruit Soda.
