THE BOOK:
Chanel in Vogue
Chanel in Vogue is published on 5th March. Eight years in the making, this is the first publication dedicated to the house of Chanel and its creations as reported in Vogue, featuring iconic illustrations and photography from throughout the magazine's history and across its international editions. Vogue talent spotted the work of a young Gabrielle Chanel as early as the 1910s and continued to report on the designer through the decades, from her seminal 'little black dress' to the most luxurious haute couture creations. From 1983, Karl Lagerfeld's reimagining of the brand also found pride of place in the magazine, inspiring some of the world's greatest stylists and photographers across the international editions of Vogue. Chanel in Vogue comprises two volumes: the first is dedicated to the era of Gabrielle Chanel, and the second focuses on the work of her successors up to the present day.

THE RESTAURANT:
Simpsons In The Strand
One of London’s most storied dining rooms is set to return at the end of the month. Following its closure in March 2020, Simpson’s in the Strand will reopen under Jeremy King Restaurants. Housed within the Grade II-listed building at 100 Strand, the revived space will include two restaurants, two bars and a small ballroom for private events. At its heart is the Grand Divan, which has been carefully restored to its Edwardian splendour – think timber panelling with marquetry detailing, deep red velvet and leather upholstery, original chandeliers and a more convivial layout anchored by high-backed seats. The famed silver carving trolleys and master carvers will return, alongside a modernised ‘Bill of Fare’ rooted firmly in British tradition: grills, roasts, pies and game made with the best home-grown produce.
THE CANDLE:
Acqua di Parma
Acqua di Parma has released new reinterpretations of its iconic Chapeau candle. Expanding upon the playful spirit and two-in-one art-deco silhouette of the Chapeau collection, the set is inspired by the iconic candle designed by Dorothée Meilichzon, which comprises two candles, one in the 400g base and another in the 100g hat-shaped lid. The designs come in yellow for the Luce di Colonia scent, orange for Buongiorno and blue for Mirto di Panarea. New Chapeau glass lids can be bought separately and are available in varnished yellow, blue and black.

THE HOMEWARE:
Rebecca Udall x Rachel Bottomley
Rebecca Udall has partnered with celebrated painter Rachel Bottomley for a collection of cork placemats, designed and made in the UK. Rachel Bottomley’s original textural artworks are instantly recognisable for their expressive, painterly quality. This first partnership reimagines two of Rachel’s archival works inspired by British garden flowers. The first oval placemat features poppies in warm, dusky red, while a round design is adorned with pale blue cornflowers. Each piece in the set of six is subtly unique, capturing the sense of movement and individuality found in Rachel’s original paintings. The sets will be available exclusively from Rebecca Udall from mid-month.
