NORTH ISLAND

SEE & DO

Waiheke Island

Waiheke Island is one of my favourite islands in the country. Just a short ferry ride from Auckland, you'll be whisked away to the most beautiful little island that has so much to offer. Waiheke is renowned for its wineries and dining experiences. The beaches complete this perfect getaway spot, whether you are after a day trip or a longer stay.

Matakana, Auckland

I’d recommend a short road trip to the picturesque town of Matakana in Auckland. Along the way, you’ll be treated to North Island scenery, and there’s so much to explore. From local boutique food shops to vineyards, and of course, Matakana’s famous weekend farmers' market. It’s the perfect destination to enjoy local flavours and experience breath-taking views.

Hot Water Beach, Coromandel

The North Island has so many beautiful beaches which is a great way to experience a Kiwi summer. One of my favourites is Hot Water Beach in the Coromandel – it’s one of the most intriguing destinations as the scenery is totally unique.

Sky Tower/ Sky Bar, Auckland

If you're on the North Island, a visit to the Sky Tower is a must. The Sky Bar at the top is a personal favourite. It’s New Zealand’s highest bar at 82m in the clouds. You can stop for cocktails or simply enjoy 360° views of Auckland from sunrise to sunset.

QT Hotel, Auckland

I love staying at the QT, which has a cool rooftop bar, fun vibes and vibrant interiors. It’s the perfect city break option. The QT is also in the best location in the city, right in the centre with both harbour and city views. The group also has hotels in Queenstown and Wellington, as well as several in Australia.

The Landing Residences, Bay of Islands

I've had the pleasure of staying at The Landing Residences in the Bay of Island, which is a stunning private estate known for its exclusivity (having previously hosted Obama and numerous celebrities when they’re in the country). It’s home to an award-winning vineyard, private beaches, tennis and basketball courts and luxury villas.

Park Hyatt Auckland

Right on the waterfront, Park Hyatt is a go-to for five-star stays. The interiors are clean and modern and there are numerous restaurants. It’s also where Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker stayed when they visited New Zealand.

Omana Luxury Villa, Waiheke Island

The name says it all… If you're after a luxurious getaway, Omana is perfect. There are beautiful views from every corner – you’ll wake up to turquoise waters and pristine beaches. Poderi Crisci is the perfect spot for a long lunch, and dining here feels like you’re in Italy – the restaurant has long table indoors and outside. It’s all about family, friends, food, and celebrating life in style. Make sure to try a selection of its wine, too.
