Velvet Buzzsaw, Netflix
After paintings by an unknown artist are discovered, a supernatural force enacts revenge on those who have allowed their greed to get in the way of art. Directed by Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler), Velvet Buzzsaw is a Netflix-only release and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Toni Collette, Zawe Ashton, Tom Sturridge, Natalia Dyer, Daveed Diggs, Billy Magnussen and John Malkovich. Given that we loved eerie Nightcrawler (which also starred Gyllenhaal and Russo), we’re intrigued.

Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) gets caught in a mysterious loop, repeatedly attending the same party and dying at the end of the night, only to awake the next day unharmed. Starring American Pie and Orange Is The New Black actor Lyonne, and created by Lyonne, Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland, this eight-episode US comedy series lands on Netflix today. We’re getting Black Mirror vibes.

The murderer uses the alias ABC and leaves a copy of the ABC railway guide at the scene of each kill. But as Poirot attempts to investigate, he is thwarted on every front.

Jon Hamm and Rosamund Pike star as CIA agents in this intelligent thriller. The collateral damage of civil war is all-encompassing and unforgiving; a brutal setting for tense negotiations, especially when the results could have monumental consequences. This is a suspenseful drama that questions government loyalties, how far one person is willing to push themselves in the pursuit of justice and where the moral line in the sand is drawn when faced with the severest of situations.

Chef’s Table – Series 6, Netflix
The new season of David Gelb’s award-winning, highly-influential culinary series Chef’s Table is back at the end of the month. This four-episode series focuses on Mashama Bailey, chef at the Grey in Savannah, Georgia; Sean Brock, the creator of Husk in Nashville, Tennessee; Asma Khan, the chef/proprietor of London supper club-turned-restaurant Darjeeling Express; and famed butcher Dario Cecchini, who operates a meat shop and a range of eateries in Panzano, Italy.
