BOOK A TABLE HERE: Heckfield Place Pop-Up

Regular SL readers will know how much we love Heckfield Place, so we were very excited to hear the luxury Hampshire hotel is hosting its first restaurant pop-up in London this weekend. On Sunday 17th October, diners will be able to sample seasonal produce from Heckfield’s 400-acre estate at Frieze Masters in Regent’s Park. The three-course menu, created by Skye Gyngell, includes creamy tagliatelle served with an autumn salad; guineafowl with girolles, spinach and hollandaise; wild seabass with potatoes, leeks and aioli; and a hazelnut and a pear tart with espresso. Kitten Grayson has designed the floral tablescapes, so we’re expecting good things all round.

WATCH THIS FILM: Ear For Eye

To celebrate Black History Month, the BFI is screening a series of films written by and starring Black creatives. Our pick from the list? Ear For Eye starring Lashana Lynch (No Time To Die) which is available to watch at the BFI Southbank on Saturday 16th October at 8.40pm. Director and playwright Debbie Tucker Green has adapted her own play, originally shown at Royal Court Theatre back in 2018, for the big screen. Her powerful film tells the story of a group of British and American Black characters  from different generations navigating their way through today’s society. Each has a different  perspective on the state of the world, but they all have one thing in common – experiences of racial injustice.
