The Fashion Team’s Favourite Bag Trends

Amid a sea of autumnal navy, black and camel, a chic bag can instantly lift your look. But with so many trends out there, it can be hard to know which one is going to give you best bang for your buck. With that in mind, we asked the fashion team for their favourites...

Oversized is always my preference and the same goes for my accessories. A large pouch bag that fits all my daily essentials whilst looking chic will always get my vote. Combining velvety leather with burgundy also creates that cosy autumn vibe.

There's only one bag shape I have my eye on this season and it’s the Ferragamo ‘Hug’. Oversized bowling bags have been having a moment thanks The Row's Margaux but I love the more structured approach of the Ferragamo. It's more polished and I think we will be seeing a lot more of this ‘doctor's bag’ type shape going forward. Perfect for work, it also comes in two sizes and multiple colours – including deep burgundy, chocolate brown or sage, all perfect tones to complement your autumn/winter wardrobe.

Timeless woven styles have become my obsession of late – I just can’t get enough of them. Leader of the pack, Bottega Veneta, can do no wrong in my eyes and I’m finally ready to commit to this shoulder bag. It’s the perfect everyday bag – practical enough for daytime use and chic enough to elevate any evening look.

I'm pleased to see pops of red are still trending and this Khaite bag is the perfect shade. I'm obsessed with the liquid leather trend, too, so I love the high-shine finish. The shape bridges the gap between a day bag and an evening piece, so I know I can wear it on repeat all season long.

There's no getting away from studs this season – especially on bags and shoes. Whether it's a tote or clutch, I'm looking for a black studded bag for autumn/winter. As well as going with so much of my wardrobe, it'll perfectly complement gold and silver jewellery.

I'm loving brown suede right now. From oversized totes to shoulder bags, there's a shape for everyone this season but I especially love this Neous style with its gold embellished detail. Luckily, the high street also has some amazing pieces – like this COS tote.
