THE TRENDS

Leather

Leather dominated at Gucci and Bally, both of which lead the charge in redefining this classic material. At Gucci, we saw head-to-toe looks that balanced boldness with sophistication – think oversized coats, sleek pencil skirts and structured trousers. Bally followed with a more polished approach, showcasing exaggerated leather coats and impeccably tailored dresses.

Pink

It looks like pink is set to dominate next summer, taking over from this season's red. The runways were awash with various shades, but it was bubblegum pink that stood out most. From Bottega to Dolce & Gabbana and Jil Sander, all our favourites embraced this playful hue, proving it's the colour to invest in next year.

Modern Romance

From delicate and sheer to intricately embroidered, designers embraced a shift from minimal silhouettes to all things OTT and romantic. Fabrics cascaded down the runways, creating a distinctly pretty aesthetic that stole the spotlight. The shift was clear – white took centre stage, signalling a fresh direction for spring ‘25.

Corporate

The 90s office aesthetic is poised to become the new ‘geek chic’ for SS25. Picture preppy pleated skirts teamed with menswear ties, or oversized blazers styled with plunging blouses – just as we saw at Bottega Veneta. A modern take on a retro look.

THE STANDOUT SHOW

Bottega Veneta’s Matthieu Blazy took inspiration from childhood memories and the joy of dressing up for his SS25 collection. The result was oversized tailoring, playful layering, fancy-dress fringing, and even packed-lunch bags – all crafted from the brand’s signature super-soft nappa leather. The playful spirit didn’t stop at the clothes; guests – including Kendall Jenner and ASAP Rocky – were seated on animal-themed beanbags, adding a sense of fun and nostalgia to the entire show space.

THE GUESTS

Milan always draws an A-list crowd, with stars like Madonna, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jacob Elordi commanding the front row at some of the week’s most anticipated shows. Daisy Edgar-Jones brought a refined, understated elegance to the scene at Gucci and fashion devotee Kelly Rutherford added her signature style to the front row at Alberta Ferretti.

THE STREET STYLE

The street style in Milan never disappoints. Oversized outerwear paired with bold accessories and pops of colour elevated neutral looks, while sporty elements like baggy sweatshirts added a laidback edge. Immaculate tailoring, as always, remained key to Milan’s signature polished style.
