THE EVENT:

Fortnum’s-On-Sea

Fortnum & Mason has arrived in Cornwall to offer the ultimate staycation experience. The iconic department store has unveiled a trio of its famous ‘Eau de Nil’ coloured beach huts on the cliffs at Watergate Bay. In partnership with chef, author and restaurateur Emily Scott, the beach huts are filled with a choice of hampers filled with Fortnum’s-style indulgence. We like the sound of the Seaside Feast, which comes with lobster and black truffle; and Scotch eggs paired with salad cream and pickled mustard seeds. The huts are open until 10th September.

THE SWIMWEAR DROP:

Whistles x The Longing

Whistles has collaborated on a high-summer swim collection with uber-cool lifestyle brand, The Longing. While Whistles has long been a staple of our wardrobes; The Longing is a relatively new brand – emerging just last year – but has already cemented itself as a cool one-to-know and is renowned for its high-quality towels. And what goes better together than towels and swimwear? The limited-edition collection features ten beautifully-cut swim styles – bikini separates and swimsuits – that have a distinctly sporty feel to them with high-leg cuts and cool open-back designs. The palette for this collection is very earthy and beachy, think: terracotta, ecru, sky-blue, warm chocolates and funky wave-print patterns – reminiscent of ‘70s Cali surf girls.

THE NEW SEASON LAUNCH:

Sleeper

The nightwear as outerwear trend is a favourite at SL, and is showing no sign of slowing down next season. Sleeper, arguably the champion of this look, has unveiled its first warm-fabric collection – thus rendering the brand’s trademark look a little more cold-weather appropriate. Amongst the collection, there are new heavy-weight blazers, maxi dresses, sweaters and luxe quilted jackets – the famed feather trim makes an appearance, of course. The brand’s dreamy fall-winter range, launching at the start of August, is making the end of summer a little more palatable and giving us all the party season inspiration.
