The Luxe List: December

The SL team shares a selection of their new favourite things. From the fashion team’s new launch of choice to the latest beauty must-have, our monthly Luxe List offers all the inspiration you need...

EVENT: Fashion Awards 2020

Usually you'd have to be a member of the fashion elite to score a ticket to the star-studded Fashion Awards. But this year, like everything else, it's gone virtual, and it's open to the public for the first time. The event will honour 20 designers, brands and individuals who have created positive change in the fashion world this year – what it will lack in red carpet glamour, expect it to make up for in exciting industry news.

POP-UP: Accidentally Wes Anderson

In celebration of the recently launched coffee table book Accidentally Wes Anderson, The Old Bank Vault has collaborated with the Instagram account (which has 1.2m followers – and counting) behind the book on a digital pop-up. The 20-day event, launching on December 3rd, will be a fully immersive experience, allowing guests to view images from the book and shop merchandise and prints. A guaranteed pastel-coloured pick-me-up.

MUSE: Emma Corrin

Emma Corrin has been the undisputed star of the latest series of The Crown, where she’s captured Princess Diana’s look and mannerisms down to a T. From shoots for Vanity Fair, Vogue – she was October 2020’s cover star – Interview and Buffalo to TV and red-carpet appearances in Loewe and Richard Quinn, she’s proven she’s just as much of a style icon off-screen as she is on the set of the Netflix hit.

To mark its 20th anniversary, fragrance house Frédéric Malle has created a selection of limited editions. Seven of the most popular perfumes – Bigarade Concentrée, Vétiver Extraordinaire, French Lover, L’Eau d’Hiver, Musc Ravageur, Carnal Flower and Portrait of a Lady – have been redesigned and topped with a red cap, while a 20-year discovery box contains 12 hits from the 32-strong collection.

Move aside Hermes – there's a new must-have designer blanket in town, courtesy of British designer Erdem. It's never been more worthwhile to invest in homeware, and this decadent merino and cashmere blend piece will be the perfect finishing touch to any space.

Loungewear doesn't have to be all joggers and hoodies – just look at If Only, the new luxury nightdress label to know. Crafted from impossibly soft cotton, these pretty pieces will look just as good thrown over swimsuits when the time comes, as they do curled up at home now.

BEAUTY: Chanel Sublimage L’Essence De Teint

Make-up meets skincare with Chanel’s Sublimage L’Essence De Teint, a new radiance-generating serum foundation that creates a luminous finish and buildable coverage. The product has a fine, lightweight texture that blends into the skin seamlessly while providing a halo-like glow. Best of all, it’s available in 13 shades.

COLLAB: Bailey x Budd

Few women have the same enviable style as Laura Bailey, so when the opportunity arises to emulate her look, it's worth digging deeper. Her latest collaboration with classic shirtmakers Budd is characteristically cool, relaxed and androgynous – and puts a modern spin on the traditional men's shirt. Available in a range of styles and finishes, they're pieces you'll have forever.

From the award-winning producers of McQueen comes Audrey, an intimate look at the highs and lows of Audrey Hepburn's life. Hepburn won her first Academy Award at the age of 24, and went on to become one of the world’s greatest cultural icons, whose style and collaboration with Givenchy continues to inspire. A hybrid of rare archive footage, cinematic dance sequences and interviews with those who knew her best, this documentary brings the film star to life.

LOUNGEWEAR: Alex Eagle Sporting Club

The 80s sports club trend is still going strong and tastemaker and owner of The Store, Alex Eagle, is the latest to join the bandwagon. True to form, this is sophisticated, elevated loungewear – think preppy sweatshirts, matching sets and a smart logo – plus, a host of stylish famous friends are already on board. From Vogue's Sarah Harris to Pernille Taesbaek, you'll be in good company.
