my sleeping gypsy

BRAND: My Sleeping Gypsy

Self-declared 'enviromentalista more than fashionista', My Sleeping Gypsy creates beautiful embroidered dresses with a conscience. Inspired by rebellious, free-spirited 70s style, they create voluminous, romantic summer boho midis from locally sourced linens, with the intention that the wearer will have it for a lifetime.

BOOK: Athens Riviera

Assouline has done it again, helping us fulfil our wanderlust without leaving our living rooms. Overlooking the Aegean Sea, a string of coastal neighbourhoods form the Athens Riviera, a picturesque escape from the city centre. This splendour is explored in this beautiful coffee table book, which showcases the selection of high-end hotels and nightclubs that line the pristine stretch of beaches down to the southernmost point of the Attica Peninsula.

FOOD BOX: London Shell Co.

Seafood restaurant London Shell Co is now delivering ‘Seashore to Front Door’ boxes across London, including a BBQ box, containing everything needed for an alfresco meal for two. The contents changes weekly, but always includes high-quality fish and seafood ready to go straight on the BBQ – such as tandoori monkfish steaks and king prawns – plus a delicious line-up of sides such as potatoes with seaweed butter, salsa verde and coleslaw, and a bottle of sparkling wine.

BEAUTY: Typology

At Typology, good skincare is defined by the quality of the ingredients. After a year of research and development, its RAW range is ready to launch. Every product is made using a single raw, natural and often edible ingredients like avocado oil or cranberry powder. Chic and sustainable, we love the brand’s beautifully packaged Ten 2002 7-Ingredient Makeup Removing Oil – a minimalist, fragrance-free formula suitable for sensitive skin.

CANDLE: Earl of East

Earl of East has created a new collection – ‘Scents of Normality’ – three luxurious candles that smell like the places we miss most during lockdown. This limited-edition range of soy wax candles comes in three evocative scents, reflecting some of the nation’s favourite hangouts: ‘The Local’, ‘The Cinema’ and ‘The Festival’. Even better, all profits will be donated to Hospitality Action to support UK hospitality workers impacted by Coronavirus.

DRINK: East London Liquor Co

East London Liquor Co has launched four ready-to-drink cocktails, made with its award-winning spirits and no artificial sweeteners, colours or preservatives. The new drinks come in 12-can cases and include a 33-calorie 0.5% grapefruit G&T – perfect for a mid-week pick-me-up. A 5% version is also available, as is a canned rum and ginger and a refreshing vodka and rhubarb. Mixed cases are on hand for those who can’t decide…

COLLAB: Cecilie Bahnsen x Charles & Keith

There's nothing better than when an expensive designer name teams up with an affordable brand for a capsule collection. Luxe Danish label Cecilie Bahnsen, famed for igniting the puff-sleeve, oversized dress trend, has teamed up with accessories name-to-know Charles and Keith to create three pairs of flats. With their pointed toe, buckle detail and pretty finishes (we love white lace and floral embroidery) they're the unusual design that will work surprisingly well with everything from straight leg jeans to voluminous dresses - plus, they're an opportunity to get that designer craftsmanship for less. Act fast.

The creative director and CEO of Hotel Il Pellicano in Tuscany has launched a new website. Inspired by the look and feel of old-school Italian newspapers, Marie-Louise Sciò’s platform will offer twice-monthly newsletters, as well as daily articles exploring Italian style, cuisine and culture. Expect plenty of city guides, plus a dedicated shopping section featuring collaborations and collections with brands including Missoni.

COOKBOOK: Bitter Honey by Letitia Clark

In Bitter Honey, chef Letitia Clark invites us into her home on Sardinia. Try your hand at roasted aubergines with honey, mint, garlic and burrata; or a zesty salad of celery, orange, anchovy and hazelnut, followed by malloreddus pasta with crab, saffron and tomato. With beautiful design, photography, full colour illustrations and joyful anecdotes throughout, Bitter Honey is both a cookbook and window onto a covetable lifestyle in the sun.
