The Luxe List: November

The SL team shares a selection of their new favourite things. From the latest fashion launches to a beauty must-have, November's Luxe List offers all the inspiration you need...

Nigella Lawson X Ocado

A new partnership between Nigella Lawson and Ocado sees the TV cook and acclaimed food writer create speedy suppers from day-to-day essentials. As well as a series of exclusive recipes on over the next year, there’s a ‘Nigella Loves’ aisle, where customers can shop all her favourite products. The collaboration kicks off with four recipes: including an excellent peanut butter pasta, a stir-fry with an okonomiyaki kick of HP Sauce, and a microwave syrup sponge.

By experimenting with gel-like molecular compounds, Zarko Ahlman Pavlov found a special molecule that, in combination with water, develops a unique odour in every human being based on the body's own fragrance. His beauty brand Zarkoperfume focuses on the Scandinavian way of life and the Nordic freshness of his native Denmark. From the current collection of scents, we like the sound of Pink Molecule – an interpretation of pink champagne mixed with spring water and breeze through trees.

Anine Bing X MVB

Anine Bing has launched a limited-edition collection of statement fashion jewellery designed in collaboration with influencer and brand muse, Marie von Behrens-Felipe. Inspired by vintage costume jewellery, there are four unique pieces to choose from, including a gold-plated bracelet, necklace and earrings, in addition to a pair of sterling silver plated earrings. “Anine and I decided a while ago that we wanted to work on something together and a small jewellery collection just seemed like the perfect fit,” Marie tells us. “We pulled a lot of inspiration from vintage pieces and landed on these four designs. Everything works so well for literally any occasion, whether you’re meeting your friends for lunch or going out for date night.”

Fashioning Design by Lee Broom

Lee Broom’s furniture, lighting and accessory designs – some of which are held in the permanent collections of cultural institutions in London and New York – mix classicism and modernity. His first book, Fashioning Design, is a visually led look at the many influences and ideas behind the British designer’s portfolio of more than 100 products. It highlights the way he showcases his work through engaging installations, exhibitions and films, and includes contributions from Vivienne Westwood, Kelly Wearstler and Christian Louboutin, alongside a foreword by Stephen Jones.

Charlotte Wells’s Cannes winner Aftersun lands in UK cinemas on 18th November. At a fading holiday resort in the late 1990s, 11-year-old Sophie (Frankie Corio) treasures rare time together with her loving and idealistic father, Calum (Paul Mescal, Normal People). As a world of adolescence creeps into view, beyond her eye Calum struggles under the weight of life outside fatherhood. Twenty years later, Sophie's tender recollections of their last holiday become a powerful and heartrending portrait of their relationship, as she tries to reconcile the father she knew with the man she didn't.

Retrofête X May Mashiah

If you’re looking for inspiration ahead of party season, New York brand Retrofête has collaborated with Isralie Couture designer May Mashiah on a five-piece dress capsule fusing timelessness with modern glamour. The collection spans a series of show-stopping dresses featuring asymmetric cuts, delicate, hand-sewn crystal fabrics and fine, demi-sheer crystal chainmail.

Objects of Desire

The Design Museum’s latest exhibition explores surrealism’s impact on the world of design. For the first time in a major UK exhibition, surrealism’s relationship to design is told up to the present day. Artworks and objects from Man Ray, Salvador Dali, Marcel Duchamp and Leonora Carrington can be seen alongside pieces by Sarah Lucas, Björk, Tim Walker and Dior, showcasing how surrealism has not only revolutionised art, but also design – from decorative arts and furniture to interiors, fashion, photography and film.

Bacchanalia – the new restaurant concept from Richard Caring – has opened reservations ahead of its launch on 24th November. The One Mount Street restaurant has been designed by interior architect Martin Brudnizki and will feature four huge Damien Hirst statues, hand-painted ceiling murals and 2,000-year-old Greek and Roman artworks. The menu will be inspired by Greek and Italian cuisine, with dishes flamboyantly finished at tables. The space will also include Apollo’s Muse, an exclusive members’ club.

The Vital Practice

A calm, restorative and supportive space to optimise your health, its central London clinic offers science-backed treatments designed to accelerate and underpin your healing. Trinity English Garden Gin

November sees the launch of Trinity English Garden Gin, a drinks collaboration between Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt and Green Room Distillery. The botanicals capture the aroma and flavour profile of an English garden in summer bloom: think blossoms of jasmine, hibiscus and chamomile. The floral bouquet, with notes of ripe white stone fruit, is uplifting, while the finish is subtle and refreshing. Just the thing to remind you of summer days now the dark nights are here.

Dior X Harrods

To kickstart the festive season at Harrods, Dior has created The Fabulous World of Dior, a beautiful presentation combining the charm of the English spirit with French luxury. From 10th November to 3rd January, the façade of the Brompton Road store will be adorned with a glowing installation showcasing Dior’s references and inspiration, as interpreted by artist Pietro Ruffo for the Dior Cruise 2023 collection. The halls will also be transformed into an immersive exhibition, and there will be two pop-ups to check out, too – one an ode to Monsieur Dior’s attachment to Christmas and t the second a café specially conceived for the festive season.
