The Luxe List: October
BRAND: Sabina Sommer
We all know Scandis do fashion so well, and Sabina Sommer is the latest Copenhagen-based label to prove it. Expect all the best new season trends, from oversized ruffled collars to ditsy prints, Liberty-inspired florals and directional puff-sleeve blouses, to organza and lamé dresses.
After a whirlwind romance in Monte Carlo with handsome widower Maxim de Winter (Armie Hammer), a newly married young woman (Lily James) arrives at Manderley, her new husband’s imposing family estate on a windswept English coast. Naive and inexperienced, she begins to settle into the trappings of her new life, but finds herself battling the shadow of Maxim’s first wife, the elegant and urbane Rebecca, whose haunting legacy is kept alive by Manderley’s sinister housekeeper Mrs. Danvers (Kristin Scott Thomas).
LIPSTICK: Victoria Beckham Beauty
‘Posh’ is the new lipstick collection from Victoria Beckham Beauty, which pays homage to her Spice Girls years. Available to buy from 3rd October, the make-up launch will include nine beautiful shades (with names such as Pixi, Girl, Spice, Pout, Fringe, Pose and Sway) and comprises a bold and playful palette, covering pale peach nudes, mid-tone mauves and bright reds. BALLET: Royal Opera House
After an absence of seven months, The Royal Ballet is back – virtually – joined by an orchestra to broadcast a live performance from the main stage of the Royal Opera House. This celebration, curated by Royal Ballet director Kevin O’Hare, will shine a light on the artistry and talent of the dancers, as the company performs highlights from its repertory. The online shows will take place from 9th October–8th November.
Loewe has launched its first collection of candles and home fragrances. Available in 11 scents – honeysuckle, beetroot, juniper berry, tomato leaves, coriander, liquorice, marihuana, peas, oregano, cypress balls and ivy – the candles are made from natural vegetable wax and are presented in a glazed, ribbed terracotta earthenware vessel. Our favourite is the tomato leaf essence, which will fill your home with a green aroma – perfect as we head into autumn.

Guillaume Glipa, the man behind some of London’s most celebrated restaurants (Zuma, Coya, Chiltern Firehouse), has launched Louie with Laurent de Gourcuff of famed Parisian hospitality group Paris Society. Drawing inspiration from several eras, Louie is named in honour of both Louis XIV and Louie Armstrong, and offers a New York-meets-New Orleans menu: think po boys and tarte tartin. As well as the main restaurant – which is filled with antiques and curiosities – you’ll find upper floors leading to an open lounge with a fireplace and a roof terrace garden. We can’t wait to visit.
