My Friday Follows: Rabea Schif

Love discovering a cool Instagram account? In this new series, we speak to creators, tastemakers and industry insiders to find out what inspires them most on social media. First up, it’s presenter, model and all-round style guru Rabea Schif. From vegan recipe ideas to sources of daily outfit inspiration, here are the handles she thinks you should know about.

For Fashion

I follow quite a few fashion Instagram accounts, so it’s difficult to narrow down my favourites. I’d say currently I’m really into @LuvAlyssaMiller and @EstelleChemouny. Alyssa Miller is not only an absolute stunner but has a beautiful voice too. She also loves nature and always nails that dreamy, 70s hippie tomboy look which I absolutely adore. Estelle Chemouny is someone I’ve only recently come across but have been obsessing over her playful, laidback style ever since. It’s a little edgier, sportier and more rock n roll than me, but I love her eclectic mix of vintage, luxury and high-street brands.

For Interiors Inspo

My husband and I are currently refurbishing our home entirely, so I’m following plenty of interiors accounts for design inspiration. I’m a big fan of mid-century and Bauhaus style decor, so my go-to accounts are @MidCenturyHome and @MatildaMargareta_ for architectural and interior ideas in this sort of style.

For Travel Recommendations

If you’re into more extravagant travel recommendations, @SomewhereIWouldLikeToGo is fantastic and some of the places featured in their photos are just out of this world. In my opinion, they’ve got one of the best selections of stunningly beautiful spots that you’ll want to add to your travel wish list. I also love the @MrAndMrsSmith Instagram for some of the world’s best boutique hotels.

For Recipes & Food

I adore @TheKoreanVegan for recipe ideas. The videos she posts always look so mouth-wateringly good, and it helps that her voice is so soothing to listen to. She shares interesting stories while she cooks and I guarantee you won’t be able to pull yourself away from watching video after video. As the handle suggests, her recipes are vegan and generally pretty easy to make – she’s definitely worth a follow, even if you’re not vegan. Another great one for vegan food inspo is @MaxLaManna. I wasn’t big on food accounts until I came across him, but his recipes prevent food waste and are so easy to cook, you’d be mad not to try them.

For Beauty & Skincare

The only ones I follow are for brands I use personally. @CTilburyMakeUp is my favourite for killer make-up and @TeamDrJoseph is one I love for natural skin care.

For Creative Content

I love following pages that have a mix of themes but in a curated way. @C_L_O is a fab account that strikes the perfect balance between photography, interiors, travel and art. The feed aesthetic is amazing – I’m always sourcing images from there. @Nowness is one of the best I know for creative content in motion, so if you’re a fan of videos, this one is worth a look at.

To Make Me Laugh

Since becoming a dog owner, I’ve become that person who watches endless videos of funny animals. One of my favourites is @Podarroz_Weimaraner – it’s the account of a family based in Lisbon, living with a young child, a cat and two dogs. Their posts are so sweet and funny – I’m sure it’ll put a smile on your face even if you don’t have pets or children. I am also a huge fan of @Humans_Of_Capitalism, a collection of images depicting the ironies of modern society. A lot of the posts on this account make me laugh, though I must admit that quite a few of their posts are more mind boggling than funny. I often can’t believe something’s actually real, but it’ll still make me chuckle.

For A Bit Of Escapism

I am a big fan of nouvelle vague, the French cinema movement that emerged at the end of the 1950s, so I love being transported to that world via @FrenchVibesClub. The style, the people, the photography – je t'aime! Expect to find incredible images of Alain Delon, Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy and Romy Schneider, to name but a few. I also enjoy the more surreal end of the spectrum, such as the images posted by @Indg0. All the collages on the feed are computer generated, creating dreamlike, neon-coloured scenes inspired by alternate worlds. Perfect for a slice of otherworldly fantasy.
