Everything Our Senior Shopping Editor Is Buying This Autumn

Florence has officially entered her autumn shopping era. Our senior shopping editor has been scouring the new season for the pieces worth knowing about, from checked shirts and argyle knits to investment coats and surprisingly good high-street suede. Here’s what she’s loving right now.

01

Pretty Piece

This Sézane shirt is high on my wish list. I like that you can take off the scarf and style it over the simplest of looks.

02

Plaid Shirts

Trust me, plaid shirts are going to be everywhere this season and I’ve been looking for the right one for me. I really like the colours in this By Malene Birger style – for a  similar look, H&M and GAP have some great options.

03

Argyle Knits

I loved Argyle last season and am happy to see it return again. There are some lovely colours out there – like this one from ARCH4 and Massimo Dutti  has some great styles too. I also like this little cashmere scarf by & Daughter if you just want to nod to the trend.

04

Everyday Earrings

Simple silver drop earrings are such a useful thing to have in your collection – they go with everything and these ARKET ones  are perfect.

05

Outerwear Investments

Outerwear is often my biggest investment for autumn/winter and this Frankie Shop coat caught my eye straight away – it looks so cosy. I also want to add more red to my wardrobe and this Varley jacket  would make the perfect weekend piece. Finally, the latest Arakii drop includes some amazing statement pieces, like this leather jacket.

06

Suede Bags

This bag  comes in such a rich shade of chocolate brown – and it’s a good price for suede. I'd snap it up before it sells out.

07

High Street Knitwear

Chanel has made the quarter-zip-and-jeans look seriously chic and I’m here for it. Lean into knitted styles over sweatshirts, like this one from Massimo Dutti with the exaggerated, wide collar. Abercrombie & Fitch has a strong selection too. Other brands that are always good for knitwear include COS and The White Company.

08

Layering Staples

Now’s the time to add a few layering pieces to your wardrobe and this lightweight roll-neck by Dagmar is something I'd wear on repeat. I also think these COS  and Topshop long-sleeves are essentials.

09

The Accessory

I always find a little scarf so useful and love how this double-sided style by Guest In Residence leans into the western trend.
