The Footwear On The Fashion Team’s Radar

Right now, I’m leaning into pieces that feel fresh but polished, starting with pale blue kitten heels – the colour for spring and an easy way to make any look feel cooler. I’m also into statement flats, like these leopard print loafers from COS. My shoe rotation always includes black loafers and I don’t mind investing because I wear them most days, so the cost per wear makes sense. My real shout for the season though is a heeled mule; I’ve found a brown pair I already know will be a go-to – they'll work with everything from tailoring to denim.

My footwear line-up usually starts with loafers – I like having a few shades on rotation, from brown to red and black. Trainers are making less of an appearance these days but when they do, I’ll always go for something slimline in a fun finish – metallics included. Then there’s the forever staple: a black boot to make long trousers look instantly cooler.

True to form, my footwear picks are all about colour, animal print and, of course, heels. I’m most excited about the Alias Mae pair – I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect white heels and I love the sculptural look of these. The red mules are my idea of the perfect everyday shoe; for now, I’d style them with socks. When it comes to black heels, I always look for interesting details, whether that’s a peep toe or stud embellishment. Animal print I treat as a neutral – from zebra and snakeskin to cheetah – so they work well with of the rest my wardrobe.

Right now, I’m all about statement heels that still feel polished. I love the tiger-print pair by Alaïa – animal print always adds interest, even to the simplest outfit. The polka-dot pumps from Amina Muaddi feel playful but still elevated, while the sculptural silver Cheope heels are such a standout choice for evening. I’ve also included the burgundy slingbacks from Victoria Beckham – they’re classic with a directional edge – and the gold mules by Giuseppe Zanotti, which feel like the perfect finishing touch for after-dark dressing.

I recently tried on these Saint Laurent loafers – they are the softest leather and such a good investment. I’m also keen to add some new heels to my collection and these TOTEME ones are high on my wish list; the shape is so chic. As for boots, I’m looking for some pointed toe ones and these by Zara look perfect.
