What is it?
If you’ve ever lusted after the wardrobes of the world’s hottest influencers – think Lucy Williams, Camille Charrière, and Pandora Sykes – The Resolution Store is set to take those trending pieces from your feed, make them shop-able and have them hanging in your wardrobe in no time. Essentially it’s a pre-sale site with a difference, taking the overflow of influencer’s wardrobes and selling them directly to their followers.
Who’s behind it?
Unsurprisingly, the brand founders are well connected in the fashion world, giving them unique access to some of Instagram’s biggest stars. Alicia Waite, a former journalist who’s written for the likes of Elle UK and The Daily Telegraph, now works as a creative consultant and content creator for fashion and lifestyle brands. Her business partner Anna Sutton co-founded women’s sleepwear brand YOLKE and now works as a creative business consultant.
Where did the idea come from?
Anna and Alicia told Refinery29 'it is an inevitable part of the job that influencers are both gifted and buy a lot of clothes [...] I became both conscious and curious of what was happening to the huge amount of clothing that donned the backs of the stylish influencers." Created to combat waste within the industry, the founders saw an opportunity to give quality pieces a second home; 'Just because a piece isn’t current season, doesn’t mean it hasn’t taken a huge amount of work – as well as water, energy, natural (or non-natural) fibres. It really bothers me that they might end up languishing at the back of someone’s wardrobe unwanted.'
How does it work?
Each sale will run for a limited time – and we’re predicting pieces will sell out fast. Edited by TRS founders Anna and Alicia, the carefully curated selection will include pieces from the likes of Ganni, Ba&sh, and Faithfull the Brand, as well as pre-loved vintage finds, including items from Gucci and Prada. The first sale will take place this Friday 21st September and SheerLuxe’s very own Head of Fashion, Lu, can be seen here wearing her edit of the best, including a nautical-inspired Chloé jumper and a white ruffle blouse from Reformation.
Who’s already on board?
Some serious names have already been announced, including fashion girls Lucy Williams, Camille Charrière, Pandora Sykes, Laura Jackson, Hedvig Opshaug, Lindsay Holland, Harriet Stewart, Katherine Omerod and Laura Fantacci. Phew!
What makes it different?
In a world where fast fashion is the norm, TRS gives customers with a conscience somewhere to indulge their love of style whilst being mindful of the increasing waste the fashion industry creates through resale – and, of course, have the chance to shop those hard-to-get-your-hands-on-products they’ve probably already double-tapped on Instagram.
When does it launch?
The first sale will start this Friday 21st September. Sign up to The Resolution Store now for further information and to gain exclusive first access.
