Furry Layers & Accessories Are Having A Moment
WHERE IT STARTED
For many, ‘comfort-core’ is still front of mind post-pandemic, but ‘hyper-texture’ is also one of forecasting agency WGSN’s biggest trends of the year. If anything, textured knitwear appears to have doubled down this season, but we’re thrilled to see a more elevated approach to the look, making it more wearable for women beyond Gen Z.
HOW TO WEAR THE LOOK
Influencers and insiders have proven just how wearable the trend really is – think mohair-style wool scarves, blazers, coats and knitwear – and there are multiple ways to do it, from head-to-toe sets like Rikke Krefting, or vibrant shades mixed with Scandi minimalism like Nuria Val. Alternatively, jumpers and accessories allow you to dip your toe in, and mix and match, without committing to a full-on look – just add a fuzzy piece to an everyday look for a little more interest like Hannah Strafford-Taylor.
THE BRANDS TO KNOW
Plenty of brands across the price spectrum are offering pieces that tap into this winter trend. We love By Malene Birger’s mega mohair set, while Acne Studios has long been a go-to for oversized scarfs, along with Totême and Loewe. We also love the textured wool blazers by Jane & Tash, Boden, H&M and & Other Stories, while a longline coat from Almada The Label is high on our wish list. On the high street, Weekday’s Kia Oversized Coat is a total steal.
