The Small Interiors Brands To Know This Christmas
Ali Hewson
After studying illustration at Camberwell School of Art, Ali Hewson turned her hand to ceramics, which she now makes in Norfolk. Her latest designs hint at her background in illustration but would work in multiple settings. Ali's work is hand-painted in her studio, and she also uses recycled and reclaimed clay that’s fired using renewable energy.

Purnima Fragrance
Originally inspired by the lush rose gardens of Mauritius from founder Purnima’s childhood, this home fragrance collection showcases the best of British craftsmanship – whether it’s the hand sculpted vessels that are made in Stoke-on-Trent or the fragrances composed by her independent English perfumer. But this experience goes beyond just scent – each element, from the soft touch of the velvety paper to the delicate artwork embossed on the packaging, is designed to create a memorable experience. For Christmas, try Encens – a rich composition of angelica root, olibanum and leather suede.

Corey Ashford
Based in Australia, Corey Ashford started her brand in 2016 as a celebration of slow, considered living. Focusing on fine details and finishes, Corey combines timeless and minimal design motifs to create pieces that elevate the everyday. Collections are influenced by the natural world (see the brass oyster-shell incense holders) as well as simple pleasures such as baking – the madeleine trinket box comes in a range of finishes, and we love the canelé holder in brass.

From stripy mugs to bright butter dishes, the cheery designs of Jessie Morrison are some of our favourites. Based in West London, Jessie creates beautiful but functional homeware, hand-painting every piece to make it individual. Her personalised gifts are well worth a look – Jessie can transpose people’s handwriting and sketches onto platters.

Harlie Brown Studio
Every Harlie Brown Studio piece is created at founder Harlie’s home in Kent, where she makes them and husband Dan paints them. Techniques such as slab building, coiling and pinching allow Harlie to create beautiful dimples and gently formed curves. We love Harlie’s work so much we commissioned her to create bespoke plates for our Restaurant & Bar Awards earlier this year.
