Look Around This Luxurious Country Home

The wow-factor here comes from the custom-designed marble floor. With three different colours, it creates a more intimate feel, a strong visual impact, as well as being incredibly user-friendly as small spills/crumbs are hard to see. I love to maximise floors – aside from the ceiling, the floor is often the largest surface area in these spacious rooms and it’s a shame not to add any pattern.

The unique kitchen design was created by our team and executed by Lanserring. It has a custom-made, freestanding banquette – we love using banquettes in kitchen-dining spaces as it immediately sets a more informal tone and is also incredibly practical when you’re keen to be flexible with the number of guests. It’s the kind of set up that’s great for one or two people but also comfortable for six to seven guests. I love the yellow velvet lampshades on the pendant light from Porta Romana – they add a real pop of colour that contrasts against the blue and red tones of the kitchen. 

This is another unusual floor with a custom inset contrast border, complete with a Greek key pattern. The clients were keen on getting that luxe feeling underfoot, so we created this design with a carpet carving artisan (a very unique skillset) to tie the gorgeous garden views into the room. Comfort and practical considerations were key – armchairs with small sturdy side tables, footstools and reading lights all work together to enhance the cosy and snug feel of this room, while custom curtains with gold accents frame the arched doors onto the garden.

As this is naturally a darker room, we decided to embrace that by using a warm and cosy colour. It’s mainly used during family get-togethers and celebrations, so creating a really festive feel was key. We installed a hand-painted wallpaper designed by G&Co in collaboration with Fromental. The hand-crafted timber dining table can seat up to 16 with beautiful petite chairs that create practical circulation space upholstered in a fabric by Guy Goodfellow.

In this large bedroom, we were keen to create zoning for a seating/TV space and a dressing area. The carpet features a two-tone border to create a better sense of separation between the different areas and the dressing area is zoned by a beautiful, scalloped rug – I love how warm it feels. The custom headboard is also panelled to zone the bed area, and it features small acorn details as a nod to the country setting. Pendant lights from Apparatus help keep bedside tables clear of clutter and we had custom bedlinen made by Gilly Nicolson.

This is a luxurious retreat with De Gournay wallpaper set into hand-painted frames adding tremendous character to the room. We used beautiful tapware by Drummonds to create this forever-classic bathroom. A custom wraparound double vanity allows two people to easily use the bathroom at the same time, with ample storage hidden behind mirrored doors. My favourite shower detail includes a waterfall shower above a fitted floating bench, and the bench even includes under-floor heating in the seat for the ultimate comfort on cold days.

Custom walnut wardrobes feature P.Jeffries inset wallcovering and beautiful antique brass handles. We designed a cosy and practical window seat layered in mohair velvet and framed with a scalloped striped pelmet for a sweet roman blind. The grasscloth pinstripe wallcovering was an unusual choice for a dressing room but it was chosen to add a textured touch and works really well.

We wanted a fun-loving vibe in this child’s room with plenty of space to display trophies and treasured possessions. The fold-up ottoman coffee table can turn into a single bed for sleepovers too. Hand-painted custom wardrobes add a fun touch and, again, accentuate texture to add softness to the generous size of the room. We added dip-dye curtains to bring a modern nod to the scheme and a patterned floor to provide a more forgiving backdrop than a very plain carpet.
