THE TILE LAUNCH:
Petra Palumbo
We’ve long loved Petra Palumbo’s interpretation of Delft tiles, and we’re now just as taken with her contemporary update of the classic ticking stripe. Handcrafted in Stoke-on-Trent, the new collection of tiles and matching dados is decorated with fluid skinny stripes in classic house colours. Stripes can make an undersized room feel bigger: if you want a room with a low ceiling to feel taller, use stripes vertically, while horizontal stripes will make a narrow room appear wider. Either pair these with the matching dado or combine with Delft tiles for a more playful look.

THE BESPOKE PARASOLS:
Plia Parasols
A couple of years ago, Alex Sudron found her Instagram feed full of colourful beach parasols at the luxury hotels of the Amalfi Coast and the glamorous beach clubs of the French Riviera. To find out if they could work for London gardens, she spent months researching beautiful fabrics – and the result is Plia Parasols. Customers can select their own fabric and have it made into a bespoke parasol. Since we introduced the brand to you last year, the range has expanded to include eight sizes, including square and round options, and gained an even stronger mechanism. Everything is still handmade in Cornwall within a couple of weeks.
