N°20 by Nespresso

Nespresso is one brand that continually innovates and evolves. This month, the brand launches N°20, the ultimate cup of coffee that has been 20 years in the making. The team visited plantings in Colombia, Nicaragua and Indonesia, before the perfect blend was created in the Cauca and Caldas regions. There, the coffee was grown by just 59 farmers who collectively planted and cared for 1m coffee trees of this unique variety. Following years of research and tastings, the blend has an elegant favour profile, with subtle notes of orange blossom and fresh citrus. The limited-edition coffee is now available in Nespresso capsules and will be available in Vertuo capsules next year.

Bold Bean Co x Hodmedod’s

Bold Bean Co make some of the tastiest jarred beans out there, so we were pleased to hear it has partnered with sustainable brand Hodmedod’s to create a jar of brown carlin peas. It’s Bold Bean Co’s first jar of British-grown beans, featuring peas frown on Hodmedod’s award-winning farm. A good substitute for chickpeas, the peas have a firm texture and nutty flavour like chestnuts. Use them in everything from salads and dips to stews and curries. Bold Bean co-founder Amelia Christie-Miller recommends stirring sweet, caramelised French onions through carlin peas for an easy bake, or tossing them with roasted aubergine and fresh herbs, with a dollop of caramelised garlic yoghurt.

Katto Chopping Board

UK kitchenware company Katto understands that people want to own fewer, better things. That’s why its products are handmade and designed to have minimal impact on the environment. After mastering handmade Japanese steel knives last year – we can vouch for the quality – Katto is now taking on the rest of your kitchen cabinet. In addition to new BBQ tools, the brand has created a reversible chopping board made from American black walnut. One side has a flat cutting and carving surface, while the other has a grooved edge for slicing bread. Best of all, each board has its own purpose-built dock for phones, iPad or cookbooks.

During the summer holidays, several members of the SL team were raving about new pan-Asian delivery company, Little Fish. Headed up by Michelin-trained and multi-award-winning chef Neil Witney, the team creates quality sushi and nigiri platters, sushi rolls, sashimi boxes and ready-to-heat dishes like red curry and pad Thai. Made daily using only the freshest ingredients, customers can choose home deliveries (to postcodes in and around the Surrey area) or pick them up from various stores around the country, including the Cowdray Farm Shop in Sussex. Best of all, the team has refrigerated lockers in Haslemere for convenient pick-ups.

Moncrieffe has created the world’s first ready-made clear margarita, made using 100% Premium Agave Blanco Cazcabel Tequila. The drink is clean, crisp and layered with grapefruit notes on the finish. Unlike anything we’ve tried, it’s a must for margarita lovers – just serve it over ice and finish with your garnish of choice. The drink will soon be available from Sainbury’s.

Ask any top chef what’s in their kitchen at home and most will attest to the quality of Maldon Salt. The brand has expanded its range with two new boxes: Himalayan Pink Salt and Kalahari Desert Salt. The pink rock Himalayan salt is a coarse variety from the foothills of the Himalayas and is best used whole in curries and sauces. It’s also a great garnish for cocktails. Then there’s the Desert Salt, a specialist ingredient from the vast desert plains of the Kalahari that’s dried in the sun and perfect for Middle Eastern dishes like flatbreads or barbecued meats.
