The Best New Beauty Buys For December

From new, playful make-up to covetable fragrances and rich skincare, this month’s new beauty buys are as good as ever. Here’s what’s on our wish list…

Chanel Holiday Collection Eyeshadow in Pourpre Brun, £31

A chic alternative to black, this deep aubergine colour is easy to apply, thanks to its creamy, powdery texture. It gives lids an instant update and can be swept all over, or just brushed along the lash line for a winged-out flick.

Available at

Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Dual Tip Concealer, £29

The coverage of this concealer is full, thanks to a thicker texture that hides everything from dark circles to uneven tone. Don’t mistake that thick texture for cakiness; it spreads like a dream across the skin, thanks to ActiveForce technology that synchronises with your skin to refresh itself and keep coverage intact. On a good skin day, this could easily be worn without foundation. It doesn’t crease either, unlike some concealers on the market.

Trinny London Sheer Shimmer / Lip To Cheek, £22

These little pots have been dubbed ‘glow-getters’ and it’s easy to see why. With a dewy texture and sheer colour, they add depth and glow to the skin. They melt upon contact with your complexion – tap them on with your ring finger and push the product into the skin for a healthy radiance. You can use them over lips and on top of your eyelids too, for a non-sticky lid gloss.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Shine Intense Lipsticks, £22.40

Available in 13 shades, Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Shine lipsticks don’t just give off pretty colour, they lock in hydration with hyaluronic acid. With a rounded bullet and glossy finish, they’re great for on-the-go application and add extra plumpness to all lip shapes. Our favourite colour? Red Stiletto is a standout for party season, while Paris Pink is ideal for day to day.

Milani Cosmetics Conceal + Perfect 2 In 1 Foundation & Concealer, £11.20 (was £14)

Doubling up as concealer and foundation, Milani’s new base is richly pigmented for an even veil of colour that blurs everything – from blemishes and redness to dark circles and uneven tone. Despite the full coverage, it’s surprisingly blendable as it doesn’t dry down immediately. You have time to play and build it up. For a more flawless finish, try using a beauty blender and apply it in firm dabbing motions.
