The SL Directory: Microblading Experts

The simplest route to great brows is microblading – a treatment that uses a small hand-held blade to create tattoo-like hair strokes on your skin to provide better definition and shape. To point you in the right direction, here are some of the best names in the business…

Nez Hasan

Nez Hasan is a go-to for industry insiders – mainly because her attention to detail is second to none. Once you’ve had your brows bladed with her, you’ll find they look full and well-defined – you’ll only need a lightweight gel to fluff things up. Using a needle instead of a blade, expect a more soft-focus finish that always looks believable. Results should last at least three years – if not longer.

Daxita Vaghela

With clients including Caroline Hirons and Charlotte Tilbury, Daxita has more than 30 years of experience. She offers everything from threading to tinting and, of course, microblading. Known for her natural, flattering and bespoke results, she’s a great choice if you want to boost density and volume. Better still, she is thorough – expect a consultation, then a top-up session complete with an aftercare kit. Book in quick and expect to be added to a waitlist.

Suman Jalaf

Suman Jalaf knows everything there is to know about brows. SL beauty contributor Georgia Day has said she has absolute trust in her. Whether you want to refine, sculpt or exaggerate your brow shape, Suman’s microblading technique is fully bespoke – considering every aspect of your face for tailored results. Taking a ‘feather light’ approach, she gently applies delicate strokes that look real yet provide instant volume. A session with her is expensive but the results are worth it.

Shavata Singh

Shavata Singh has a roster of A-list clients including Adele and Victoria Beckham. A beauty therapist for more than 20 years, she launched her brow studio in 2004. Specialising in semi-permanent powder and ombre brows – and using a needle, not a blade – the results are always natural looking, with a glossy, precise finish that helps you to look more groomed. Shavata and her team are friendly and welcoming, so you’ll instantly be put at ease. It can be a bit of a wait to see Shavata herself, but her senior artists are all trained to the same standard.

Suzanne Martin

Suzanne Martin comes highly recommended. Her signature microblading treatment, The Couture Brow, restores shape and overcomes sparseness with intricate – and gentle – needlework. The whole process starts with a thorough assessment of your face before she creates a custom-blend shape to suit your skin tone. Expect the whole process to last 90 minutes, with a ‘scratching’ sensation that’s only a little bit uncomfortable. A follow-up session will guarantee perfect results that last up to three years.

Kallinika Aynsley at Dryby London

You can find Kallinika at the Berkeley Hotel, Dryby in London and Loughton in Essex. Offering a bit of everything, she can make simple tweaks or permanent changes – the choice is yours. Her ‘hyperrealism brow’ treatment is the most popular. Semi-permanent, it uses a machine to create soft and natural-looking results. Waxing and tinting is also on the menu, as is the ‘bespoke brow’. Our only advice is to book in as soon as you can – her waiting list is long.

Vanita Parti at Blink Brow Bar (BBB)

Blink Brow Bar used to be a bit of a beauty insider secret, but it’s become a go-to for many – and it’s where you can find Vanita. It offers walk-in services, and you can expect quick treatments that deliver impressive results with locations in several department stores nationwide – from Harvey Nichols to Liberty and John Lewis. While they’re known best for threading, microblading and brow lamination are both available too. There are plenty of experts worth seeing but if you can, book in with Vanita – her attention to detail is second to none.
