5 Ways To Support The Restaurant Industry

The country might be on lockdown, but the hospitality industry has come up with several ways for customers to recreate the restaurant experience at home. From selling merchandise to delivering Michelin-worthy dishes, here’s how to keep your favourite places in business during Covid-19…

1. ORDER A DELIVERY

Many restaurants have turned their kitchens into takeaway and delivery outfits and plenty of bars are selling beer, bottles of wine and ready-to-pour cocktails via apps. We’ll be publishing a more extensive selection of London hotspots offering delivery soon, but in the meantime, here are few initiatives we like the sound of.

Hide is offering delivery for the first time ever, allowing diners to sample Ollie Dabbous’ Michelin-starred food at home. A special menu has been created featuring dishes that travel well including roast scallop with Jerusalem artichoke and black truffle; and burrata with confit tamarillo, basil and olive oil.

2. BUY A GIFT VOUCHER

If you’re looking for a birthday present, this could be something to look forward to. Many establishments are now offering vouchers with added benefits, too, such as an extra 25% off or doubling its worth. While we suggest giving your locals a helping hand, here are some of the most interesting deals in the capital.

The Little Blue Door and The Little Yellow Door have a deal on, so that vouchers purchased until the end of 25th March will be doubled in price – so if you buy £100, it will be worth £200 when the bars reopen.
