For Day-To-Night Partying

There’s no shortage of beach clubs in Mykonos, but newcomer Ftelia by party group Pacha is shaking things up on the northern side of the island. Not just a beach club, the venue also has a restaurant, bar and entertainment space where international DJs play every day of the week. Israeli DJ Guy Gerber has a residency this year, while previous acts have included the Martinez Brothers, Marco Carola, Damian Lazarus and Themba. Dine at the restaurant to enjoy generous Mediterranean dishes before continuing the party downstairs – where you can directly access the beach.

Yazz Collective, Fethiye, Turkey

For A Luxury Trip

If you’re planning a special holiday, put Yazz Collective at the top of your list. Tucked away in a remote cove in Fethiye, along Turkey's southwestern Turquoise Coast, the resort is only accessible by boat. With some of the most beautiful vistas on this list, the resort has 16 chic guesthouses with private gardens or beach views. If you’re not staying, book a reservation at the restaurant and bar, or hire a day bed on the beach to relax. Expect sunset parties and DJ sets while friendly staff bring Turkish plates and zingy cocktails to your table.

Purobeach, Palma de Mallorca, Spain

For A Relaxed Day Out

Whether it’s a relaxed pool day or a more rustic beachside setting you’re after, Spanish beach club group Puro offer both. Head to the Can Pastilla outpost for a huge terrace and swimming pool built into the sea edge – book a day bed to be plied with ice cold drinks and fresh fruit all day – or look to the Illetas setting for a leisurely lunch with loungers peppered around the surrounding rocks. Snack on tiradito, Asian prawn salad and courgette carpaccio with burrata, or book a sunset massage for an evening of indulgence.

Yalos, Santorini, Greece

For Boho Vibes

Easily one of the best beach clubs on Santorini, Yalos is a real experience. Despite its cool décor and beautiful views, it’s one of the most affordable options on this list – you can hire day beds and cabanas on the beach from just €20 for the day, including table service. Order cocktails like pineapple margaritas and palomas to your bed while DJs set the vibe, then head to the main restaurant for traditional Mediterranean dishes like grilled fish, seafood platters and sharing salads. You can also book various wellness classes like yoga or sound bath sessions. Don’t forget to check out the cool Gypsy Van for boho-chic clothing and souvenirs.

Arienzo Beach Club, Positano, Italy

For Unforgettable Views

Positano is known for its cliffside houses, dramatic views and ultra-luxury hotels, so it should come as no surprise that it’s home to one of Europe’s best beach clubs.  You’ll probably recognise Arienzo from its orange umbrellas and sun loungers overlooking a rocky beach. Order an Aperol spritz before tucking into classic Italian dishes at the restaurant – think spaghetti vongole, seafood risotto and caprese salad. There’s a complimentary shuttle boat service which departs La Banchina pier every 30 minutes from 10am to 1pm, with returns from 3.45pm onwards.

El Chiringuito, Ibiza, Spain

For Live Music & Djs

El Chiringuito has a loyal clientele who return each season to enjoy relaxed lunches and drinks on Es Cavallet beach. From the late afternoon onwards, DJs and live percussionists entertain while staff deliver rounds of cocktails and towering jugs of sangria to tables. The menu changes regularly so there’s always something new to try – either from a day bed on the sand or in the shaded boho-inspired restaurant. Mediterranean dishes are designed to be shared, from whole grilled fish served at the table to tapas-style starters like smoked aubergine, calamari and tuna tartare. There’s also a separate menu for little ones.

Byblos Beach, Saint-Tropez, France

For Total Glamour

A go-to for the fashion set and those in the know, Byblos Hotel’s nearby beach club oozes glamour. Set on the beautiful Pampelonne beach, it’s just a ten-minute drive from the centre of town, but you can also arrive on boat. You’ll find oversized woven parasols, cotton awnings and day beds lining the beach, overlooking turquoise waters. Relax with a coconut and fruit platter as yachts sail into the bay or head to the restaurant for Mediterranean dishes and bowls of pasta topped with shavings of truffle.

Experimental Beach Ibiza, Spain

For Sunset Drinks

Experimental Beach Ibiza is a popular spot next to the beautiful Ses Salines salt reserve, a protected national park of salt flats, wetlands and dunes. At this perfect spot for sundowner drinks with friends, guests can listen to soft house music and jazz as the sun sets over the Med. Meanwhile, the restaurant serves classic tapas dishes, while the cocktail menu is, of course, more experimental – we recommend the ‘Señor Carota’ made with Barsol Pisco infused with cardamom and grilled pineapple skin, mango, carrot cordial and lemon.

Assaona, Palma de Mallorca, Spain

For Year-Round Relaxation

This chic beach club is in Portixol, to the east of Palma city centre. Post-renovation, the décor blends into the background with neutral colours, raffia furniture and straw-topped parasols. Open year-round, guests can sit on the white sandy beach which has beautiful views of Palma Bay, swim in the clear waters, and order sharing plates and cocktails back on land. The menu comprises sushi and sashimi, poke bowls and other Japanese dishes – though you can’t go wrong with the catch of the day served with padron peppers and grilled corn. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the resident DJ spins Balearic beats and chilled house music. You can even download the venue’s Spotify playlist to get a feel for the vibe.
