THE GRAB-AND-GO OPTION

Supernova, Bahrain

When it opened in Soho, the queues spoke for themselves. Supernova makes a great burger. If you’re looking to join the line at the team’s new Bahrain site, here’s what to expect: next-level cheeseburgers, crunchy fries and sundaes, US-style. Wrapped in paper and served in basic surrounds – with pops of colour coming from obligatory red and yellow plastic bottles of ketchup and mustard – these burgers more than live up to the hype.

THE DISH

Kira, Dubai

Kira – the fine-dining Japanese-Mediterranean restaurant within the new luxe Marsa Al Arab – has launched a standout crossover dish that blends Japanese precision with Italian comfort food: gyoza cacio e pepe. Made with Japanese wagyu trimmings, slow-cooked into a deeply rich, umami-packed Italian-style ragù, the dish was initially conceived as lasagna before the chefs reimagined its best element, the caramelised edges, as gyoza. Grilled on the plancha for a crisp base while keeping the filling indulgently soft, each bite is finished with a creamy, peppery cacio e pepe dip that perfectly balances the richness.

Elsewhere, a coconut and semolina Gâteau Coco nods to Mediterranean aromas, while the roulé au chocolat balances dark chocolate crémeux with caramel chantilly.
