Whether you fancy a trip to the cinema or want a series to get stuck into, SheerLuxe’s pick of the best films and TV will see you through the week.

WEDNESDAY

Love Is Blind: UK, Netflix

The pods are open once again as Love Is Blind: UK returns for a third season. Hosted by husband-and-wife team Matt and Emma Willis, the new series introduces 30 single Brits hoping to find a lasting connection without ever seeing the person on the other side of the wall. There will be plenty of romantic declarations, questionable decisions and, inevitably, a few engagements before anyone has even met face-to-face.

THURSDAY

Outer Banks, Netflix

The Pogues and Kooks are heading into one final round of trouble as Outer Banks returns for its fifth and final season. Following the dramatic events of season four, the Pogues are left dealing with JJ’s death while their search for the elusive Blue Crown continues. With revenge, justice and unfinished business all on the table, the group’s latest adventure looks set to be every bit as sun-soaked, treasure-filled and chaotic as the last.

Lion, Disney+

Lion, Disney+

Filmed over four years in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, this ambitious wildlife series follows Kio, a young lion growing up within one of the reserve’s prides. As he gets older, the playful tussles of cubhood become much more serious as he begins to compete for his place within the group. And with rival lions and other predators sharing the same territory, there’s no shortage of drama beyond the pride itself. Narrated by OJ Lynch, who played Mufasa in the stage version of The Lion King, there will be plenty of spectacular footage and a close-up look at life in one of Africa’s most extraordinary ecosystems.

Ludwig, BBC

David Mitchell is once again proving his dramatic chops as socially awkward puzzle-setter John ‘Ludwig’ Taylor, who once again finds himself using his knack for spotting patterns and inconsistencies to help solve crimes. The first series became a surprise hit thanks to its mix of dry humour, ingenious mysteries and Mitchell’s characteristically deadpan performance. Season two promises a darker mystery as Ludwig gets drawn further into the police investigation – despite having absolutely no intention of becoming a detective himself.

The Dynasty: UConn Huskies, Apple TV

The story of the University of Connecticut’s basketball programme is less rags-to-riches and more just riches. This three-part series focuses on the women’s team. It explores UConn’s history and the triumphant 2025 season, thanks to the abrasive stewardship of head coach Geno Auriemma.
