Panorama: Lucy Letby – Who To Believe?, BBC1
Lucy Letby was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill seven more – a verdict that shocked the nation. Yet some international experts insist there’s no proof a crime was ever committed. Alien: Earth, Disney+
It’s taken 45 years, but Ridley Scott’s terrifying xenomorph has finally made the jump to television. Fargo creator Noah Hawley reimagines the franchise in a prequel set two years before the original film. The premise? A research ship crash-lands on earth amid a corporate war between scrappy newcomer Prodigy and the infamously ruthless Weyland-Yutani. Prodigy’s big idea is transhumanism – uploading human consciousness into nearly indestructible bodies. But when alien cargo from the wrecked vessel starts to stir, that dream quickly turns into a nightmare.

FRIDAY
Together
If you’re after something unsettling and quietly brilliant, Together is the indie horror to bookmark. Real-life couple Alison Brie (GLOW) and Dave Franco (The Nowhere Inn) star as a husband and wife who relocate to a remote cottage to fix their marriage – only to find themselves haunted by something far darker than relationship baggage. Part twisted love story, part body horror, it’s an off-kilter psychological drama that will stick with you long after the credits roll. It’s done the festival circuit and is now landing in select UK cinemas, with a digital release expected soon.

Nobody 2
Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) is back as Hutch Mansell – the seemingly average suburban dad with a lethal past. In this high-octane sequel, Hutch finds himself dragged even deeper into the underworld he tried to leave behind, as enemies close in and his family becomes collateral. Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes For Us) takes the reins, promising brutal action and slick visuals. Expect more chaos, carnage and a surprisingly emotional core.

Materialists
From Past Lives director Celine Song comes this sharply observed romantic drama set in the upper echelons of Manhattan’s social scene. Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades), Chris Evans (Knives Out) and Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) form the central love triangle, in a story that raises questions about love, wealth and personal ambition. It’s stylish, self-aware and the kind of character-driven, adult storytelling we can’t get enough of.

Limitless: Live Better Now, Disney+
Chris Hemsworth is back on the small screen with a new challenge series – this time pushing mind, body and soul to their limits. Across three high-octane missions, the actor attempts to boost his longevity with the help of scientists and trainers: scaling a 600ft frozen wall, enduring brutal South Korean special forces pain training, and, most daunting of all, drumming live on stage with Ed Sheeran.

Fit For TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser, Netflix
Once the biggest weight-loss reality show in the world, The Biggest Loser is now under the microscope. This documentary examines its legacy through the eyes of former contestants, trainers and producers. Some call it life-changing, others accuse it of exploitation and unsafe methods. Allegations of extreme dieting, gruelling workouts and dangerous weight drops raise uncomfortable questions about what viewers were really cheering for.
