THURSDAY
The Death Of Bunny Munro, Sky Atlantic
Matt Smith (The Crown, Doctor Who) sheds his usual charm for something far more unsettling in this stylish adaptation of Nick Cave’s novel. Set in Brighton, Bunny Munro (Smith) is a travelling salesman whose reckless pursuit of pleasure implodes when a family tragedy forces him into reluctant fatherhood. The series blends dark humour, surreal flashes and raw emotion as Bunny stumbles through grief and self-destruction, often blurring reality with memory. Smith’s hypnotic performance anchors the chaos, revealing the fragility beneath the bravado.

A Man On The Inside, Netflix
This charming comedy drama returns with another gently twisty mystery and the same cosy appeal that made its first season such a delight. Previously, widowed professor Charles (Ted Danson) found himself moonlighting as a detective in a retirement village, now he’s pulled into another unlikely case at a college where the headmaster is being blackmailed. The suspects? A parade of eccentric academics who seem to compete for the title of most suspicious. New to the cast is Mary Steenburgen (Book Club, The Good Place) – Ted Danson’s real-life wife – as Mona, the imaginative free spirit who may just represent a new beginning for Charles.

Daddy Issues, BBC
One of last year’s quiet triumphs returns this week. Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education, Living) stars as Gemma, a new mum juggling her baby and her well-meaning but hapless dad Malcolm, played by David Morrissey (Sherwood, The Walking Dead). With Gemma’s mother Davina – Jill Halfpenny (The Long Shadow, The Cuckoo) – now living with them and proving more hindrance than help, Gemma’s household is messier than ever. Created by Danielle Ward and produced by the team behind The Inbetweeners, the series remains warm, silly and sharp, with standout support from Sharon Rooney (My Mad Fat Diary, Barbie), Taj Atwal (Hullraisers) and Sarah Hadland (Miranda), who steals scenes as riotously candid salon owner Rita.
