What To Watch This Week 2.02.26

Whether you fancy a trip to the cinema or want a series to get stuck into, our pick of the best films and TV will see you through the week.

WEDNESDAY

The Muppet Show, Disney+

Cue the nostalgia confetti. The Muppets return in a glossy one-off revival that leans hard into the chaotic, self-aware charm that made the original such a classic. Expect musical chaos, meta jokes and celebrity cameos galore – including sparring between Miss Piggy and Sabrina Carpenter, plus appearances from Seth Rogen (Knocked Up) and Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids).

The Lincoln Lawyer, Netflix

Mickey Haller is back – and again, the case is personal. The slick legal drama returns for a fourth season, adapting Michael Connelly’s The Law of Innocence, in which defence lawyer Mickey finds himself fighting not for a client but for his own freedom. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven, Sicario: Day Of The Soldado) anchors the series as the smooth-talking attorney forced to prove he didn’t murder a former client – while juggling a justice system that suddenly sees him as the enemy. As Mickey and his tight-knit team dig into the victim’s final shady scheme, they collide with the DA’s office, the FBI and a growing list of uncomfortable truths from Mickey’s past. Neve Campbell (Scream), Becki Newton (Ugly Betty), Jazz Raycole (Everybody Hates Chris) and Angus Sampson (Fargo) return to round out the ensemble, while David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, Ally McBeal) continues to oversee the series’ polished, propulsive tone.

FRIDAY

Queen Of Chess, Netflix

If The Queen’s Gambit sparked your chess curiosity, consider this is your next move. Queen Of Chess dramatises the rise of Hungarian prodigy Judit Polgár, the real-life trailblazer who shattered ceilings in the male-dominated chess world. Beginning as a 12-year-old with extraordinary talent, Judit’s journey unfolds over 15 years as she climbs the rankings and sets her sights on defeating world champion Garry Kasparov. Rather than focusing solely on wins and losses, the series digs into ambition, pressure and the personal cost of exceptional talent. It’s proof that one of the most gripping sports stories doesn’t require a stadium at all.
