Will Mellor, who starred in Mr Bates Vs The Post Office earlier this year – which resulted in real government action – presents a documentary on the scandal’s real victims. He meets some of the subpostmasters who were so deeply affected by it, some of whom were wrongly prosecuted for fraud and served time.

TUESDAY
Bob Marley: One Love, Amazon Prime
Landing on Amazon this week is the Bob Marley biopic that dropped in cinemas earlier this year. Starring Kingsley Ben-Adir (High Fidelity and sci-fi series The QA), the film documents the life of the reggae singer and social activist from his rise to fame in the 70s to his attempted assassination and his untimely death in 1981.

Elsbeth, NOW TV, Sky
In this spin-off from The Good Wife and The Good Doctor, Carrie Preston stars as Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute but unconventional attorney who makes unique observations and corners brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD. After leaving her successful legal career in Chicago to take on a new investigative role in New York City, Elsbeth finds herself in competition with the toast of the NYPD, Captain C.W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce, The Wire). Working alongside Elsbeth is officer Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson, Straight Outta Compton), a stoic and ethical officer who develops an appreciation for Elsbeth's insightful and offbeat ways.

Quiet On Set, which dropped earlier this year, rocked the world with its revelations about the dark side of kids’ TV. In a similar vein, Netflix’s Dirty Pop looks at the entertainment industry, specifically the pop star conveyor belt of the noughties helmed by music magnate Lou Pearlman. Responsible for launching the careers of Britney Spears and NSYNC, Lou Pearlman’s meteoric rise and eventual downfall eventually landed him in prison.

THURSDAY
Decameron, Netflix
Hoping to blow Bridgerton out of the water is this dark period comedy set in the Italian countryside in 1348. What starts as a booze-fuelled sex romp descends into a fight for survival when the Black Death hits a grand Florentine villa. As the pandemic descends, carefully maintained class rules wear thin. The eight-episode series features a host of familiar faces including Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls), Zosia Mamet (Girls) and Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education).

Kleo, Netflix
Proving we can’t get enough of slick female spies, post-cold-war thriller Kleo is back for a second season. We rejoin our East German agent as she tries to get her hands on important documents pertaining to the old communist regime, but she’s not the only one looking for them. As ever, the visuals are stunning – from the costume to cinematography – and the carefully choreographed fight scenes are designed to impress.

Deadpool vs Wolverine
The latest addition to the Marvel universe sees two worlds collide – those of Wolverine and Deadpool played by real-life friends Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. The two have been entertaining fans for years with their faux feuds and now they are bringing that raucous energy to the big screen. The film kicks off six years after the events of Deadpool 2 with Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, trying to live a normal life when he is dragged into a critical mission with Wolverine.

Olympics 2024: Paris Opening Ceremony, BBC One
The greatest sporting tournament is touching down on French soil for the first time in 100 years. Stage director, Thomas Jolly, has been charged with representing France on the world stage – and no expense has been spared. Instead of a stadium, the ceremony will be taking place along the Seine, where 10,500 athletes will make their way down in boats past Paris’s major landmarks. Much of the show is under wraps for now, but there are rumours Sabrina Carpenter will be making an appearance.

SATURDAY
Olympics 2024: Day 1, BBC One
It’s day one of the Olympics, and things are kicking off with swimming and rowing heats, as well as the first diving final, followed up by the men’s and women’s road cycling time trials. Rounding off the day will be not one, but four swimming finals.
