Smoggie Queens, BBC Three
Comedian Phil Dunning, also known by his drag persona Joan Diamonds, has landed his own sitcom about the chosen family often found in queer communities. Set in Middlesbrough, Smoggie Queens kicks off with the fiery Dickie (Dunning) enduring a break-up, with his eclectic pals offering suitably unconventional support. Expect more of the surreal and sweet in upcoming episodes, including a turf war between rival queens and a whole episode spoofing Titanic, all while celebrating Middlesbrough’s small but mighty LGBTQ+ scene.

Edward Berger, the Oscar-winning director of All Quiet On The Western Front, returns with a tense drama about one of the world’s most secretive processes: selecting the new leader of the Catholic Church. Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci and John Lithgow star as high-ranking cardinals, with Fiennes playing Thomas Lawrence, who leads the conclave and is tasked with uncovering dirt on the candidates – only to find out more than he bargained for.

After an eight-year wait, Moana is back on the big screen in Moana 2. This time, she’s embarking on a perilous journey across the seas of Oceania, joined by a motley crew of seafarers. All We Imagine As Light
