Interview With A Vampire, BBC
Based on Anne Rice’s synonymous book series, the first season of Interview With A Vampire kicked off with Louis de Pointe du Lac – played by Game Of Thrones’ Jacob Anderson – and how he came to be a vampire in New Orleans in 1910, as told to cynical journalist, Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Landing on iPlayer this week, the second season picks up where the last left off, with Sam Reid reprising his role as the hedonistic vampire Lestat de Lioncourt.

Kensuke's Kingdom
Based on a novel by beloved children’s author Michael Morpurgo, Kensuke’s Kingdom tells the story of a young boy shipwrecked on a remote island. He thinks he is alone until he encounters an old Japanese soldier who retreated there after World War II. When invaders appear on the horizon, the unlikely duo must work together to protect their paradise. This hand-drawn animated tale is based heavily on the original illustrations and has a star-studded voice cast, including Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins.

Didi picked up the prestigious Audience award at this year’s Sundance film festival. Set in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2008 – the Myspace era – it tells the story of a Taiwanese American boy and his last summer before high school begins. It is a coming-of-age story in which Chris Wang faces the issues of a normal teen – girls, parents, skating – as well as a cultural gap between him and his peers.
