THE CULT BRAND:

Khaite

Khaite has solidified its status as the New York brand of the moment and its AW25 collection proved why. Meticulously crafted but with an effortless feel, the show was a masterclass in power dressing with a cool-girl edge. Strong shoulders, cinched waists, and rich, tactile fabrics defined the line-up, with a palette of deep neutrals and inky blacks punctuated by unexpected pops of red. Oversized coats, fluid tailoring, and second-skin leather pieces exuded quiet confidence, while sleek, sculptural accessories – think sharp-toed boots, oversized clutch bags – proved that minimalism, done right, is anything but boring.

THE COMEBACK:

Calvin Klein Collection

Calvin Klein’s AW25 show marked a bold new chapter for the brand as Veronica Leoni made her official debut as the label’s first female creative director. Bringing a wealth of experience from Jil Sander, Céline under Phoebe Philo, and The Row, her vision imbued the house’s signature codes with a fresh, modern perspective. As Calvin Klein’s first runway show since Raf Simons’ departure in 2018, the collection felt like a powerful reset with razor-sharp yet relaxed tailoring, perfectly cut coats and slouchy suiting spanning a colour palette of crisp whites, soft greys and deep navy. Sheer layering, second-skin knits and reworked denim paid homage to Calvin’s iconic aesthetic – putting this iconic name back in the conversation.

THE NEW NAME:

Ashlyn

Ashlyn’s AW25 show was all about deconstructed elegance. Blending fluid draping with razor-sharp tailoring, the collection struck the perfect balance between undone and refined. A moody palette of charcoal, deep navy and off-white set the tone for a wearable yet quietly subversive collection –asymmetric cuts, slouchy-yet-structured suiting, and exaggerated proportions exuded a raw, modern energy. Every detail was intentional and every silhouette impactful, cementing Ashlyn’s place in the New York roster of brands to watch.

THE ICON:

Michael Kors

The Michael Kors show at the Terminal Warehouse in Chelsea, brought a touch of dégagé chic to the city’s fashion scene. Transformed into a sleek, mid-century-inspired loft with exposed brick and wood, the space reflected the feel of the collection, which the designer described as embodying 'cosy modernism'. Focusing on relaxed glamour with softly tailored menswear coats, pleated skirts, fluid dresses and luxurious knits, the rich tones of chocolate, aubergine and caramel added warmth and sophistication.

THE COOL-GIRL COLLECTION:

Tory Burch

Meanwhile, Tory Burch reworked classic silhouettes with a sense of ease and playfulness for AW25. Blazers were oversized and sharp, and layered over fluid jersey dresses. Track pants got a luxe upgrade with structured tailoring, while utilitarian jackets featured exaggerated pockets and cinched waists. Textured velvet added depth to slinky eveningwear, while unexpected cut-outs and asymmetry gave the collection an undone feel. Taking place in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the collection felt like a natural evolution of Burch’s signature aesthetic: polished, wearable and subtly subversive.

THE CLASSIC:

Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera put a fresh spin on modern glamour. Set against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline, the space was transformed by 2,500 flowers – perfect for a collection that felt bold yet romantic. Wes Gordon delivered a slick mix of sharp tailoring and statement gowns – we loved the chic white shirt paired with high-waisted black trousers, the cropped grey pinstripe suit, and the head-to-toe red look with corsage detail. The soundtrack, featuring Fleetwood Mac, added to the mood, making the whole event feel like a cinematic fashion moment. Once again, Gordon proved he knows exactly how to balance classic elegance with modern edge.
