I'm building my autumn wardrobe around easy neutrals, starting with this COS funnel-neck blouse and this M&S wool-blend draped scarf-neck top, both of which work as well with tailoring as they do with jeans. On off-duty days, I'll be living in Leset's black Nando lounge pants with this cotton raglan t-shirt, while these M&S leather studded flat pumps will add a little edge. Finally, this H&M shoulder-pad merino wool jumper is the flash of red my wardrobe needs.

I love this faux fur jacket from Topshop. It looks so expensive and would be such a wardrobe hero. This coat from H&M went straight into my basket thanks to the folded lapel detail. I’m obsessed with the faux fur trend this season. These backless loafers would be perfect with a good cashmere sock.

The COS tailored pima cotton shirt is a timeless essential, while my red oversized Mango clutch – first worn during London Fashion Week – is the ideal size to go from day to night. The M&S faux-fur-trimmed flight bomber has been on my wish list since I spotted it at the brand’s LFW show. A woman can never have too many blazers either, and the sharp tailoring and double-breasted detail of this John Lewis style instantly caught my eye. I’ve never met a pair of mules I didn’t love, especially an animal-print pair; the contrast of lime against snakeskin makes these ASOS ones really stand out. Lastly, the Grove & Vae earrings are a must-buy this season.

Good leather trousers are something I always come back to at this time of year. They instantly make any outfit feel more polished, so finding a pair on the high street that look expensive is a real win. I’m also very into fluid, oversized trenches right now – there’s something so chic about throwing one on with heels and big sunglasses. I’m also having a moment with fur details – particularly fur scarves. They’re such an easy styling trick and can completely change the feel of a simple jacket, coat or knit. Finally, animal-print boots are firmly on my radar. They’re a fun way to add a bit of personality and drama to your wardrobe. I love them with everything from denim to tailoring.

The high street is so good at this time of year because there are lots of great collaborations and premium collections out. NAKD’s faux-fur coat looks far more expensive than it is, while Zara Home is worth a look for accessories like this satin jacquard bag. Lace is trending again and I love this cape blouse from H&M, it is a timeless staple.
