3 Fashion Insiders Share What’s In Their Carry-On

Packing light is easier said than done – so we asked three stylish friends of SL what makes the cut when space is tight. Whether it’s a quick city break or a week in the sun, here’s what they’re squeezing into their hand luggage…

Mallorca

“I’ve just come back from a week in Mallorca with the family, and my carry-on was all about a curated capsule. It was full of pieces I could mix and match for days by the pool, afternoons exploring and dinners out. A linen co-ord from Deiji Studios doubled up as a beach cover-up and city outfit, while my ARKET swimsuit acted as both swimwear and a chic summer top. I lived in my COS culottes and long-line shorts, dressing them up with a St. Agni bandeau or Róhe satin cami. I kept accessories minimal but hardworking – a Dragon Diffusion bag I’ve used for years, a Juju Vera necklace to elevate basics, and trusty flip flops that work just as well at the beach as they do with a black dress at dinner.”

“For a city break, I always stick to interchangeable classics – a linen shirt, a strappy dress – that are comfy enough to wander in, but easy to elevate with the right accessories come evening. I go big on the extras: jewellery in my hand luggage to save on weight and a handbag stashed inside a larger tote to maximise space. My formula? Headscarf and flip flops by day, a sleek heel and statement earrings by night. And my secret weapon? Antler packing cubes – they somehow make everything fit like a dream.”

Ibiza

This is basically everything I packed for my first trip to Ibiza earlier this week – a 24-hour escape with Daisy Jewellery. I went with a tight edit of elevated, mix-and-match pieces that worked for everything from poolside lounging to sunset dinners, think a cotton co-ord for breakfast, a mismatched bikini and silk scarf for the pool, and a relaxed silk dress with strappy flats for evening. Polly Sayer’s new collection added the perfect finishing touches – shell earrings, pearl bracelets and bold cord necklaces brought each look to life. My space-saving heroes? A foldable straw hat, a sarong that doubles as a skirt, sculptural sunnies and a travel tote that works beachside or in the city. I usually stick to monochrome but for evenings I love some colour – and I’ve already got my eye on a butter-yellow Kai Collective set for my next trip.
