Jessica Skye’s Cornish Food, Travel & Style Recommendations

Here's what's on repeat this high summer. Matteau's Baby Tee in Tomato barely leaves my body – it's the kind of piece you can wear with denim shorts by day and dress up with a skirt come evening. A Zara linen-blend oversized shirt is perfect thrown over a swimsuit or knotted at the waist when the breeze picks up. For the beach, & Other Stories' Contrast-Trim Swimsuit in Brown/Blue is a favourite, and I'll often layer Reformation's Lissa tee over the top for the walk back. Jewellery-wise, Anni Lu's Ball Necklace hasn't come off in weeks – it's simple enough to wear with everything from a bikini to a going-out top. Miu Miu's Round-Frame Acetate Sunglasses via NET-A-PORTER are my go-to for sunny days, and Rouje's Square Basket Bag in Rouille carries everything I need without looking too beachy if I'm heading somewhere smarter afterwards.

One jewellery brand keeps making it into my rotation. I'm particularly loving Milly Maunder at the moment – their pieces are so effortless and pair perfectly with your everyday wardrobe. The Fish Pendant in brown cord is the one I wear daily and layer with pretty much everything, while the Shell Pendant in sterling silver and Ebb Ring in gold-plate come out for evenings, when I want something a little more polished.

Two trends have really caught my eye right now. Sporty shorts against something girly is a combination I keep returning to – think Adidas' Satin 3-Stripes Sprinter Shorts worn with something soft and feminine on top, like DÔEN's Aphra Crochet-Trimmed Ramie Top via NET-A-PORTER. Headscarves and bandanas are having a moment for me too – I love tying Free People's Forever Lace Triangle Scarf around my neck or through my hair for something a bit different.

Accessories are my golden rule – they can completely change an outfit. A cap is usually where I start, like Pete Pareo's Los Peces Cap, which works just as well over beach hair as it does dressed up with linen. Sunglasses aren't far behind – Jimmy Fairly's Emmy style gets a lot of wear – and I'll often add a simple necklace like Toast's Helena Rohner River Silver Bead Miyuki Necklace in blue/brown to finish things off.

Where To Eat…

BEST BREAKFAST: Harbour House Flushing
Harbour House Flushing does one of the best breakfasts, and the view is gorgeous. You can sit and look out across the harbour while you eat, which makes it such a lovely spot to start the day. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by – and you can catch the taxi boat over to Falmouth and do some exploring.

BEST LUNCH: St. Eia, St Ives
St Eia in St Ives is one of my favourite spots for lunch. It's a café, wine bar and bottle shop with a seasonal menu that changes throughout the year. It's tucked just around the corner from Tate St Ives, making it the perfect place to stop for lunch after a morning exploring the gallery.

BEST LOCAL: Nancarrow Farm
Nancarrow Farm is definitely worth visiting. They offer lunches, suppers and feasts, all set on a working farm. You can sit inside the beautifully restored barn or outside in the courtyard. Make sure you come with an empty belly, because the food is incredible.

BEST DINNER: Orto & Four Boys
It’s hard to pick; my two favourites are Orto and Four Boys.

BEST COFFEE: Flora Newyard & Fee's Deli
For a morning coffee, I always recommend Flora Newyard. It's the perfect spot to grab a coffee and one of their delicious pastries before wandering around the beautiful gardens. Another favourite is Fee's Deli – it's my go-to for coffee or a matcha, and they also have a brilliant selection of local produce to buy.

BEST ATMOSPHERE: Watergate Bay Hotel
Watergate Bay Hotel sits right on one of Cornwall's best beaches, with an ocean-view infinity pool, great restaurants and even a surf school. It's also really family- and dog-friendly – the perfect base if you're looking for everything on your doorstep.
