Fair Play

Writer-director Chloe Domont’s debut film will land on Netflix on 6th October. When a coveted promotion at a cutthroat financial firm arises, once supportive exchanges between lovers Emily (Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Oppenheimer’s Alden Ehrenreich) begin to sour into something more sinister. As the power dynamics shift in their relationship, the couple must face up to the true price of success and the unnerving limits of ambition.

After years of anticipation, the Old War Office in Whitehall has reopened as The OWO. Glossy by Marisa Meltzer

This bombshell exposé reveals exactly what happened at Glossier, one of America’s hottest and most consequential start-ups, and dives deep into the enigmatic, visionary woman responsible for it all. At the centre of the story lies Emily Weiss, the elusive former Teen Vogue ‘superintern’ on reality show The Hills turned Into the Gloss beauty blogger, who had the vision, guts and ambition needed to launch beauty brand Glossier. Eight years later, after turning it into a $1.9bn business, she stepped down. In Glossy, journalist and author Marisa Meltzer combines in-depth interviews with former Glossier employees, investors and Weiss herself to bring you inside the walls of this fascinating and secretive company.

KAYU Bakehouse

Having already made its mark in the Middle East, KAYU Bakehouse now serves its pastry creations in Mayfair. A luxe experience, the boutique has been decorated with imported Golden Spider Marble furnishings – and has an indulgent menu to match. Signatures include raspberry cream cheese croissants, double chocolate brioche, mousse chocolat, mosaic roll cake and eclairs.

Chef Nicholas Balfe and the team at Holm in south Somerset have announced the opening of seven bedrooms above the restaurant. Open from November, but bookable from today, the bedrooms are the result of a major renovation project. Decorated in exposed lime plaster, muted tones, ceramic, wood and fabrics, they have been designed to seamlessly mirror the aesthetic of the restaurant below. All seven have ensuite bathrooms, with three featuring roll-top tubs and one with a four-poster bed.

Byredo X Susanne Kaufmann

Natural skincare guru Susanne Kaufmann and luxury beauty brand Byredo have joined forces to launch a limited-edition series of products that celebrate the connection between skincare and fragrance. Combining Susanne’s expertise in skincare with Ben Gorham’s knowledge of fragrance, the collection includes a moisturising scented body oil and roll-on fragrance oil, inspired by the Bregenzerwald, a forest region in the Austrian Alps and home of the Susanne Kaufmann brand. Expect notes of jasmine and hints of sweet fig – just right for this time of year.

Mud Australia X NET-A-PORTER

Since 1994, Mud Australia has created elegant and timeless handmade porcelain homewares. Designed by brand founder Shelley Simpson, the collection is available in 19 shades, and is as much about self-expression as it is about functionality. Now, Mud Australia has announced its porcelain tableware and home décor products are available to buy in the UK via NET-A-PORTER. The curated selection currently highlights the brand’s Pebble Collection – we have our eye on one of its oval porcelain vases.

Victoria Beckham

This month sees Victoria Beckham introduce her first collection of fine fragrances. Each of the three eau de parfums have been created by Victoria in collaboration with master parfumier Jérôme Épinette. Based on her personal memories, each genderless fragrance distils the notes of a particular era in her own life and projects: Portofino ’97 evokes her first romantic getaway with David; Suite 302 is reminiscent of their whirlwind trips to Paris; and San Ysidro Drive commemorates the family’s time in California.
