The Cool New Experience At Rosewood London This Autumn
Whisky Is Having A Moment
If you’ve overlooked whisky in favour of other spirits, now’s the time to give it a try. One of the biggest food and drink trends this year is the ‘whisky renaissance’, with more people than ever learning to appreciate the spirit’s complexities. Whether you’re already a fan or a whisky novice, The Macallan is a name to know.
A regular award winner, this heritage Speyside producer of single malts has deep roots: it was one of the first distillers in Scotland to be legally licensed and has since built an impressive reputation with a fine combination of craftsmanship and creativity.
The Macallan’s Harmony Collection Is A Big Deal
Over the last two years The Macallan’s annual Harmony Collection has been one of the brand’s most sought-after series. First, the distillery created a bottle with renowned chef Jordi Roca, then the second edition was inspired by the Ethiopian Arabica coffee bean.
This year, we’re excited the brand has partnered with Stella and Mary McCartney, collaborating to create a whisky inspired by their love of Scotland which stems from memories in the Scottish countryside. The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow whisky has notes of orange, lemon, honeysuckle, vanilla, coconut and ripe barley fields – with a rich, sweet and complex finish. The perfect drink to help you transition into autumn.
Try It At Rosewood London’s Terrace Until 29th October…
We’re also excited to reveal Rosewood London hotel has transformed its terrace and courtyard into the ‘Amber Meadow’ – a Scottish-inspired meadow where you can also try the new whisky. The beautiful scenery includes authentic Scottish foliage, a stone archway, and even a babbling brook to transport you to the birthplace of The Macallan. Perfect for date nights, there’s also warm lighting, created by a floating sun installation above Rosewood London’s courtyard, and native Scottish plants to help set the scene. Wander through the meadow to find the terrace restaurant, where you can cosy up under lambswool and alpaca wool throws.
THE DRINKS
Try the new The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow whisky neat or over ice, or order a cocktail featuring The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old or 15 Years Old. We like the sound of Rosewood London’s interpretation of Mary’s ‘Wildwood’ cocktail, featuring The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old with clarified apple and freeze-dried blackberries. Then there's the ‘Foraging Old Fashioned’ with ‘sous bois’ verjus, evaporated nougat, palo cortado and – wait for it – edible moss.
THE FOOD
Rosewood London’s terrace is one of our favourite tucked-away spots in the capital and now, there’s a special à la carte menu on offer to complement the whiskies. Highlights include seaweed crackers with foraged herbs; and grilled miso-glazed aubergine with mushroom purée, cistus, garlic and kale. Every dish will feature herbs, plants and foliage found on The Macallan Estate and its surrounding areas.
THE EXPERIENCES
Special ticketed events will also be available on selected dates throughout the pop-up, including a guided meadow tour followed by a four-course dinner with paired cocktails. A sketch artist and guitar player will also help set the vibe.
…And Enjoy It At Home
